Air Filter

What does everyone think of using a K&N air filter on a Vogue 4.4? Worth the extra £ and does it give a slight performance gain or use OEM??

I put a K&N in and to be honest, absolutely no gain whatsoever. Only reason for me is that the normal filters cost more than a K&N over here and Harmatan can be quite dusty so I want to be able to clean them after each Harmatan if needed. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Go with original, K&N might be useful for a carbed car but can foul your
air mass meter causing a need for air mass replacement due to the K&N's
need to be oiled.Don't believe their marketing hype.

How about an open sponge type like pipercross, they dont need oiling.

Anyone used one in a ff, had one in the skoda for years now, gives a v slight performance gain. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I think that's because space is tight after the conversion and the k&n fits the best. Thumbs Up

Run my td6 with a K & N tend to put them on all my cars by habit. No noticeable performance gain but it does seem to change up earlier and seen a small mpg increase only negative in sounds bit louder! Mine was a blue one! Smile

K&N's are only good at keeping small rodents out of the engine. If you actually want to keep dust out of it, stick with the original.
