I'm thinking of buying a lock kit and fitting it myself (ignition, door lock and 2x keys). Once it's fitted, does it need to be progrmmed into the car or is it already done whilst in kit form?

LR want £890 to supply and fit a lock kit so I'm thinking I could save a few bob fitting it myself.

Yeah, but I've got a £600 excess. No point really as the total bill at LR is £890. Plus, the premium will go up next year.
