Timed climate

As per title, tried it out this morning as the weather up here is starting to get colder and wanted to make sure it worked before the real cold weather sets in.

Anyway, I duly set the time and it fired into life, so far so good Thumbs Up
Left it running for a little over 5 minutes then unlocked the car and found it to be nice and warm inside, when I switched the ignition on without starting the engine, the satnav screen came to life then a message box popped up saying "low power, switching off" at which point the satnav screen turned off Shocked

Is this something I should be worried about Question

Just a low vehicle battery, take it out for a run.

The system shuts down extraneous devices if the battery is low to maintain enough starting power.

Thanks for that Allan, I'm guessing then that the daily commute to work of 5 miles each way isn't enough to keep the battery topped up Question

Can anyone recommend a decent charger to keep it topped up Question

Without running out to the car to grab the manual, which ciggie socket is still live when the ignition is switched off and the car locked Question

The one in the boot is always live.

You could have a solar powered parcel shelf!

Nice looking RR in your gallery Dave.

Hi Dave... Read this thread for info on my solar charger. It recommends unplugging it before you start the car incase surges damage the circuitry.

Oooo, good question, didn't know about that, was there a recall for it or was it just a bulletin Question

Ask your dealer as there was a long drawn out fight for people to get it fixed last year and they just gave up and fitted a better battery and reduced the run time. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Your vehicle should have an AGM gel battery fitted, pop the hood and take a look it should be marked AGM. There was also an associated software update to go with the battery but it depends on when yours left the factory. I had one of the first 2011's to leave the factory (Jan 2011 build) and that’s when the low battery messages started appearing. I can't remember exactly when they started to fit AGM's as standard from the factory but I think it was from around June 11. Mine was swapped as part of a recall and has been fine since the battery swap Thumbs Up

Edit to add none of the ciggy lighter sockets on a 2010+ are active after the vehicle is shut down. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Just checked tha battery, it's a VARTA that's fitted so it looks like the original battery is still on there.
Is there a TSB out for this or is it a case of doing battle with the dealer to get it changed Question (which I'm more than happy to do after all the faults I've found with the car so far)
