defender prices

After a bit of advice, I own a 300 tdi 90 hard top which I had fully refurbed, its great but at times a little too agricultural but I don't use it all the time.
I have been offered a 07 plate tdci 90 hard top with 75k miles, one owner, mint condition A/C, heated seats, full electric pack etc... Alloys, all kitted out in the back.

Firstly what's the 07 worth? there doesn't seem to that many for sale and prices all seem to include VAT and range massively, this car has no VAT.

Secondly, do I buy and sell the 07 and (possibly) make a few quid, or get rid of the 300tdi which for all its faults is as strong as an anvil, but enjoy the comfort of a 5 year old defender?

either way anyone want a 90? LOL

I dont want to sound rude but i think you'de get a far more valued response from the Defender forum...

Ide have the 07! But im sure the 300 is arguably the best of the 90's to date!

Craig Thumbs Up

The 300Tdi will hold its value better long-term as it's the last of the non-electric models.

I own a 300Tdi 110. They're easy to repair and easy to make (a lot) faster and easy to improve.

Comfort? In what respect? Most things can be added / changed and performance improved. The Puma has its own set of issues, so would you be any better off?

As Craig suggested, go to Defender2 and ask, but that's a forum dedicated to Td5 and onwards Defenders, so there'll be some bias.

It depends on what you want. There's no right or wrong answer here and without seeing both models, a little difficult to be any more detailed. Si. <This is my name.

Get the 07 and make a profit if you can coming upto winter. A defender is a defender isn't? they all drive pretty much the same unless you mod them and aren't really desgined as motorway cruisers but more offroad bruiser Smile

With the cash you make just put it to one side for you 300 incase it needs a repair. no money lost then Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

There is an abundance of defenders about for sale mainly if the tax bracket is the higher one if it is bear it in mind that most people wont want to pay 4-500 poind on road tax onto no6 Range Rover

Everyone needs a hobby

Defenders can be a bit comfortable!

Mine is now fully insulated, sound proofed, new half leather heated seats, a cracking heater and full headlining.

It's no Range Rover but compared to what it was, it's amazing. Discovery 4 HSE

trust me a 5 year old defender with aircon, heated seats, ellectric windows, insulation and a 6 speed box, may not have the comfort of my rangie, but is a million miles better than a standard 300tdi 90!

Still anyone got any ideas on prices?

I would post on the Defender forum bu the guy i am purchasing off, lurks on their so I am here undercover Whistle

Can't help with prices, but, with it being a van - buy it ! You will enjoy cheap road tax, but spend a few hundred pounds on a rear seat/window conversion (remembering to put in the correct forward facing seats - NOT side facing).

With the 90 having A/C as well, you're onto a winner ! You will easily get more back should you come to sell it.

I'm with you on the comfort spectrum - I've had a 200 90, 300 90 & Tdci 110 XS. There are are huge chasms (between them all !) in terms of NVH - I considered the Tdci to be superb - I would have nearly recommended one to someone who doesn't "get" them !

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?
