22 inch wheel owners

Hi

I've put a deposit down on a Supercharged with Overfinch Tiger 22s on it.

I'm hoping owners of 22s could let me know their experiences (good or bad) around ride quality, tyres and problems (e.g. kerbing and buckling).

Many thanks Thumbs Up
Rory

P.S. Also posted on the RRSPORT forum as there may be more owners of 22s over there!

Ive not had any issues.

You may want to remember tho that the profiles usually lower so dont go bouncing up kerbs and remember there'll be less protection when parking so try not to rub the kerb.

The ride quality is a little firmer thats not an issue for me. TDV8 HST Sport **Current**

Can I ask what tyres you use? Also how did they cope in the recent ice and snow??

Cheers

Ive Toyo Proxes Tyres and they performed very well!

I was told that Toyo are the preffered tyres used by Overfinch too.

I didnt have a single moment where i thought i'd get stuck, And trust me if there was deep snow i deliberately found it! Thumbs Up TDV8 HST Sport **Current**

Hi

I also have 22" Alloys with Toyo Proxies.

Ride is great, a little firm, but nothing compared to my old S-Line Audi or my wifes BMW.

I did have some trouble initially but this was down to the front alloys not being balanced correctly leading to a severe vibration through the steering. Obviously the bigger the wheel the bigger the effect of an imbalance. So my only advice would be to ensure that the tracking and balance is 100%. That should not be an issue if you are having a new car anyway.

The car has not put a foot wrong in the snow and the ice so far.

Si

Hi all recommend Andy at Magkiwheels,

Got a great deal delivery to my door with fitting kit, locking nut set on these 22" 9.5J wheels with Toyo 285 tyres fittted.

22" Team Dynamics 9.5J manufacture TUV approved

look at this listing on ebay, eBay Item No. 390116757830 , ask for Andy when you ask a question , tell him Rob in aberdeen put you on to him, and he'll do you a deal on a set of four with locking nuts etc.

Handling improved, very small noticable reduction in ride quality but this as i have said is more that made up for in better cornering etc.

cheers

Just remember that as far as your insurance company is conerned these are a modification, if you don't tell them and make a claim you could get stuffed. Discovery 4 HSE

Robbo770 How are your Team Dynamics holiding up?

Been looking at getting some 22's aswell but not sure to wait and save for some orginal Overfinch wheels or go down the replica route or another make like yourself.

Any help on replica wheels?

No Problems

ask for extra wide tires to help protect the rims, ask andy to do the same TOYO deal as I got.

What size tyres did you opt for?

Ive had 22's on my car for over 3 years - 3 different sets plus numerous single wheels. The roads where i live are really bad, i keep buckling or cracking them.

My next rangie will just have the standard 20" wheels, too much hassle for me but 22's looks 100 times better in my opinion.

My car is purely an on road vehicle, sometimes in a grassy field but thats about it.

It handles a lot better on smooth roads..............
