Canvassing LPG S/C Owners !!!!

Very recently I have been put off buying a S/C as I have been told by two reliable sources (one garage and one LPG installer) that they are not good for running on LPG.

I see a few of you are using them on here....can you give me your views......I really have my heart set on one of these, but I'd want LPG on it.

Looking forward to hearing your experiences. (Are there any owners of one near Glasgow?)

2006 Range Rover Autobiography Supercharged Zambezi Silver

I've got one and I'm in Falkirk - I love it - have had it runnning on LPG for about 18 months and covered about 13000 miles on LPG.

I get about 180 - 200 miles out a tank of LPG and that costs about £45 to fill - a bit better on a run, ours does a lot of short stop start running.

There has been a lot of bad press about cylinder heads etc, but in reality, I haven't heard of many 'real' cases. I've got flashlube fitted as a precaution though.... Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

I agonised on wether to get my SC LPG'd, but in the end I had heard too many bad reports of cylinder head problems etc that I decided on the TDV8 instead.

Youll get pretty polarised opinions, but in the end, it's really your call.

No regrets at all so far on going to the TDV8 Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Thanks guys......that gives me a lot more confidence.........

Wish I had been on this forum before I bought the TD6. Shouldn't be too much trouble to move it on and look at some on here. PM's on the way!

I think I'll have to get another. I think ideal is a 2007 car, for the updated interior, with a 2012 facelift Bow down Razz Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Another? Did you sell yours or are you just being greedy....... Laughing

I've never driven an S/C......they must be really quick compared to my TD6......more than double the power!!!!!

I've had two S/C's, and I had them both converted to LPG, got my money back in less than a year. No problems on LPG. Highly recommend it.

Totally different car to the TD6, not just power and acceleration, but handling, braking, and luxury in a different league (no offence to TD6 owners, I envy the hell out of you guys at the moment since I have a boring as hell Volvo XC90!) Thumbs Up Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

That's what I thought.......

If the running costs are the same (or maybe even better!) then I figure why not??? It's only the rumours of engine damage that put me off initially.....but I've never heard of anyone who has actually had an issue. The flash lube seems to be the way to go for added protection.

My local RR dealer also said to me that the S/Cs were about £7k dearer to buy new, but he believed worth less second hand as much harder to sell (maybe that's just up here in Scotland).

Hopefully I can either px mine for a S/C or just sell mine then change over to an SC.........

How often do you fill that?

Is it expensive?
