Nothing to do with me, and arguably the wrong interior, but what a laugh if you had the money......

Takes me back to being allowed to stay up to watch the Duke boys........(and Daisy !!)

England 2009 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

It's disappointing to see that the doors open - far more fun to enter via the window. Your memory of that pair of Dukes also took me back to watching them. Not to mention watching Bo and Luke as well. Ahem..........

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver

There's a few of those replicas around and they do pop up for sale regularly.

Agree about the interior colour, although many second-unit GL's had this colour and were saddle-soaped or sprayed to tan.

The steering wheel is wrong, too. But easily sorted.

Can thoroughly recommend the film Collier & Co. Made by and stars John Schneider. And heavily features a '69 orange Charger. Great film and some great DofH references. Si. <This is my name.

Season 5 Episode 6 of Smallville (called Exposed) still has John Schneider playing Clarks Dad, but Tom Wopat turns up as a Senator, in a 1969 Charger, and takes Mr Schneider out in it to show him what it can do.

Well funny. Some very good "in jokes".........

I'd love a go in a Charger, but from bits on Fifth Gear and a bit on Top Gear, I've a feeling I may be disappointed. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Yeah, seen that!!

Saw the Fifth Gear VBH test a few days ago and did wonder if the GL she drove had been detuned or just wasn't putting out the claimed 375bhp. American horses have been likened to a Shetland pony compared to a UK shire horse. US power figures were always at the flywheel with no ancillaries where UK figures used full production engines, if I recall correctly.

There's always been some debate at to what the real GL engine was. Officially, the original GL, known as GL1, had a 383 and that kind of ties in with things. The Season 1 episode, Repo Men where the Dukes buy an ex tyre-test racing charger for the GL's new engine from Ace Parker (which was actually the wrecked GL1 from the opening credits) had the 383. The 440 wasn't much quicker and the budget wouldn't have stretched to a Hemi. But it's all conjecture.

Coincidentally, Ace Parker in that episode was played by Jerry Rushing who was the real-life inspiration for the Duke cousins. Jerry Rushing and his brother were real-life moonshine operators, who were fictionalised in the film, Moonrunners, which is where the DofH follows on from. They had an Uncle Dooley in real life who was the inspiration for Uncle Jessie.

Anyway, I digress... Si. <This is my name.
