Great Value LPG conversion done in a day

Well I finally made took the plunge and got the FF converted to lpg. I did a ton of research and decided to take the plunge with professautogas just north of Cardiff, South Wales.

I canvassed many installers and these guys seemed as good as any but I particularly liked that they were geared up to do the conversion in 12 hours and had a lifetime warranty.

Everything went to plan, I dropped the car off at 8am, they gave me a free courtesy car and I picked mine up at 8pm the same day, job done.

Early days yet but having done 400 miles since Friday everything seems good initial calculations show I should save in excess of 33% off my fuel bill.

Lifetime warranty and only £999 plus vat. A bargain I think. 03 4.4 V8 petrol / lpg. 1st of many hopefully. I love my Rangie

You chose well Daz! My system was fitted here 2 years ago and I have just had mine serviced here again (£48 only!) - really clean workshop, excellent client handling (receptionist right up to the boss, andrej).

They Spotted some corrosion in the rubber pipe at the back and replaced the lot free of charge! Also spotted some residue in the original filter and injectors so replaced them (not free unfortunately). New injectors are lifetime warranty!

All round a very good experience. The techs are all from Poland and they use the stag system if that's of any interest to peeps. Apparently they have converted over 8,000 cars in 7 years of operation. Saw a Porsche boxster being done while there!! Shocked
RR.is now running smoother than ever and I hope to beat my previous 28 mpg equivalent.

Great to hear Dolphin, thanks for the encouraging words. Yes they do have a great setup and are a lovely bunch of guys. They even filled my flask up with coffee for the journey home. Very Happy

Oh and the annual services can be done remotely, you buy a cable for £40, they plug you in via the internet and send you the filter to change yourself at home. 03 4.4 V8 petrol / lpg. 1st of many hopefully. I love my Rangie

Hi - really interested in hearing more about this - anyone else recommend these guys? Been contemplating having my 05 FFRR converted but have so far been put off by the cost of the conversion...... This however looks very reasonable - worth a day off and a premierinn overnight! Current Cars:

Are they LPGA approved? Has the installation gone on the register? Sound a good price and quick. Have you got some pics of the install, would be good to compare? Mine cost £1800 and took 3 days. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Not lpga approved but I did extensive research online before deciding on them. My insurance and the DVLA are happy.

The install is very, very tidy I will try to add some pictures when I find the leads for my phone/camera.

They do have a couple of FF installs shown on their website but my reducer gubbins is nicely out of the way at the back of the engine on the drivers side, looks like it's part of the original fittings.

V happy and loving the £40-£45 fillups. 03 4.4 V8 petrol / lpg. 1st of many hopefully. I love my Rangie

You are lucky - I know a good few insurance companies won't insure converted cars without the LPGA certification. Although, I suppose you could take it elsewhere and get it inspected and a certificate - as long as it's been done to the standard.

I'd be inclined to get this done sooner rather than later - then if it fails, you can get the installer to put it right for free, as the car may well be difficult to sell without the certificate.

I don't feel lucky.

It's certified to ECE 67-01,02 Standard, LPGA means squat in euroland I guess. 03 4.4 V8 petrol / lpg. 1st of many hopefully. I love my Rangie

ECE 67-01 and 02 is the certification for the components. Not the installation.

I'm sure it's a perfectly good installation - not meaning to say otherwise - just reckon it's better safe than sorry, especially as most insurance companies would want to see a certificate - and without one you might not be able to access the best price next year when it comes to renewal.

Yep point taken, I just knew that Robert mentioning LPGA was gonna start a heated discussion, hence not bothering to reply earlier.

Quite!

I wasn't trying to start a heated discussion - just thought it was worth mentioning for the longer term insurance angle. I am sure the certificate, like Gas-Safe or whatever it's called these days for domestic gas, is worth nothing in reality and hides all sorts of dodgy work!

But, like a spare condom in your wallet, you might never need it, but the day you do, you'll be glad it's there.

I wasn't throwing a grenade and just watching he fall out! Last I knew which was 12months ago they weren't LPGA but that was then. I thought it was a very good price for a system that was LPGA. From what I know they failed to get LPGA creditation for silly things like LPG storage tank location not lack or unsafe installations. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]
