Noddy here

I've been locked out of my account as I've changed my email so I've had to register again until my account is active

I've taken my car to a specialist today to activate FBH in testbook. He looked under the bonnet and told me I didn't have the heater installed. I thought all TD6's had them?

Can't see anything under my bonnet. It's located in the passenger wheel arch under the battery. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Shows how much this "specialist" knows then!

I'll go back next week and inform him of its location!

Not done it myself but I understand that taking the wheel arch liner out is the easiest way if you need to access it. Like you, I believe all td6s have it.

On cold mornings do you get a pre heater message in the instrument cluster and you can hear the fbh running to help warm up the cabin. Sounds like a little jet engine 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Can't say I've heard the unit run, but I have seen the "pre-heating" message on cold mornings.

Just need to enable the park heat function then. I used the iid tool. If it doesn't actually fire up for some reason, then that's a different issue altogether.......... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I think this specialist was assuming the FBH was in the same place as the Range Rover Sport. There was one on his ramp with no engine in, and that was located on the wheel arch passenger side

Just had a quick look under the wheel arch but can't see anything resembling a FBH or any kind of exhaust?

You have to take the plastic wheel arch liner out to see anything. Not sure where the exhaust comes out. Will be passenger side under the arch somewhere I'd imagine. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Got my original account working again now

I'll whip the battery out this week and the under tray and see if it's there

You do not need to take the battery out:all you need to do is stick your head under the car behind the front wheel and look for the stainless steel exhaust pipe that ends more or less flush with the wheel arch liner.

There is no 'Pre-heat' message in the display w/o park heat activated as your FBH is running as an auxiliary heater. And there is no 'auxiliary heat' message.

Unless someone has removed it, you DO have an FBH. All diesel RR L322s have them.

Cancel your 'specialist' and sell your AllComms and you've financed an IIDTool. You'll have park heat, numerous other CCF options, and much more extensive diagnostics to boot.

Noddy, please get this thing sorted. I am starting to get claustrophobic-like-panic-feelings when I see your multiple FBH threads come up. Laughing

Rolling with laughter

I enabled my FBH park heat with the IIDTool. You have to enable it in 2 places in the menus and then do a instrument cluster reset.

I got the Pre-Heat message come up without my Park Heat activated. Definately the case. Came on when I started the car on cold mornings.

If you physically want to see it, you will have to remove the arch liner. Removing the battery tray won't help.

As Steve says, the exhaust is in the wheel arch somewhere.

Oh - do you mean the glow plug "pre-heat" before you start the motor that only appears on very cold days? That has nothing to do with the FBH, tho....

It says pre heat in the instrument cluster. Not the orange glow plug symbol. I could hear the fbh running after it. I did a thread about this at the time, which was a bit inconclusive if I remember right,

You chaps know the firmware better than me though..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
