2010 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Not very good photos, but it was a grand day for it and glad I did the morning run as the day light was running out for those on the afternoon session when they left at 2:30pm

Pictures

There were a lot of these

I think a lot of us are familiar with this screen.......

But look at the miles - one very careful driver! 2800 only if you cannot see in the photo

Even the display car had been offroaded the day before......

Even from the side they look like elongated Sports. I think having the snow made it an even better day than it would have been.

One thing I heard several people who had driven only the 4.4TDV8 comment on was that despite what is in the technical literature, they felt the car didn't feel as alive or responsive as the 4.4 in the L322. All those that drove the TDv6 were very flattering about it even though it was not as quiet as the Tdv8 or S/C, but it certainly has plenty of get up and go. By comparison the S/C was so quiet it was almost boring.......... until you flexed your right foot when it simply flashed away in total silence, you really do have to watch the speedo as the rev counter only ventures above 2500 RPMs when you are quite savage with the kickdown or downshift using the paddles

For me the controls are mostly exactly the same as those in the Evoque, the steering wheel stalks could have been taken directly from one. the wing mirrors are considerably smaller than Evoque's too. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Mmmmh... not sure Mick, as nice as the new car is when driving back from the event in my own car I couldn't help thinking have they moved the game on so much that I should be trading in my car plus another £30k for a new one???....... well the honest answer is probably not. Confused Not sure if that's the answer you were expecting to hear Question

Did you try the 4.4 Jim? What was your opinion of it compared to the current one? Most of the folks driving them yesterday reckoned the new version to be less good than the version in the L322. Have to agree though about the 3.0ltr V6, it's all the engine you ever need although I expect Mr Angel won't agree! The car in your first photo was the one I drove in the morning, TDv6 Vogue with Ivory interior and panoramic roof 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Tim I think the 4.4 needs time to run in..I found my own 4.4 didn't really start to shine until it had 10k miles on the clock...now it's awesome!!!

Good read, thanks.

Did anyone drive the TDV6 and the TDV8? Seems some dispute about which is the one to go for.

(Not that I'm going for either - yet. Laughing )
