United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged Supercharged Java Black

Yes, specifically made for LR Brembos and I've seen plenty of pictures of them fitted to Sports with Brembos, but the guy at Compomotive says they also fit the FF too. They are a slightly different offset and only 8" wide so should fit fine.

Yes they are, but apparently this has been taken into consideration. I'm now a little nervous to say the least as I've just shelled out for wheels and tyres!

I have bought a set of the highly acclaimed (especially in Northern Snowy Europe) Nokian WR G2 Winter Tyres for the Wife's VW Tiguan Sport as her summer tyres (Goodyear Eagle F1) are rubbish even on fresh snow. They have by far the highest score on Tyre Test . com

You had me doing some emergency research there. It appears that the calliper fronts are similar, but the backs where the harmonic dampers are located are different. Worst comes to worst I'll have to cut a little bit of the damper off and deal with the screech. Phew ...

Anyway I bought them for off-roading next year in the summer, so I could get more chunky rubber on and save my 20" wheels for looking like I don't go off-road during commuting times. They happen to be the wheels designed for Bowler so I can pretend I'm in the Paris-Dakar when the weather is a bit more summery Smile

Hmm, that seems quite an extreme winter tyre. From the reviews I've read it seems very good in snow/cold, and not very good in +7c and wet. I wonder if it's a suitable tyre for the Uk where even in winter it's usually +7c? Be interested to hear your opinion compared to the Vreds.

I can't bring myself to post pictures of a RRS. Once they are fitted I'll post some pictures and a mini review. I've also gone for Goodyear UltraGrip+ SUV tyres as they came really high up in the AutoBild test and I've trusted them before.

It get top ratings for WET performance......

I live in the coldest road in Britain. In Guinness book of records as equal record low average with the Aberdeenshire plains......

We also cannot get to our road without going down a very steep long hiull. Winter tyres are a necessity based on the last five years. Thumbs Up

Quote:
The Chiltern Hills and North Downs

Since London lies in a basin, valleys tend to run towards the capital -
hence the potential interaction between the frost hollow and the
heat-island. The 'donor' areas for the cold air are the hills around
London - notably the Chiltern Hills to the north-west and the North
Downs to the south. The dip slope of both Chalk outcrops runs towards
London. Dry valleys in Chalk are most appropriate 'reception' areas for
frost hollows. On a calm, clear evening, cold air will run down these
shallow valleys towards the edge of London. The most famous frost hollow
probably is that at Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire, where a dry valley
from the Chiltern Hills meets the larger valley of the river Colne
(that dry valley is our road).

Confluences of valleys are effective frost hollows because two streams
of cold air meet and therefore become trapped in that location. This
effect is accentuated at Rickmansworth by a railway embankment across
the end of the dry valley. Air frost has been recorded in every month of
the year here, comparable to the Scottish Highlands. On 29th August 1936
the temperature climbed from 1.1 C at dawn to 29.4 C within 9 hours, the
largest daily range in temperature recorded in Britain.

I normally cringe when people post new wheel pics as I almost always find them too bling. They're very nice though.

Like 'em. Thumbs Up

TASP - I spoke with compomotive last year about these wheels - they should fit OK but what you may need to do is to rotate the harmonic dampeners on the callipers by 90 degrees to improve clearance. I know of a couple of guys with RRS TDV8's who use these wheels and they all had to rotate the harmonic dampeners by 90 degrees. 'tis but the work of a moment apparently... Thumbs Up

Cheers Simon, that's the same thing I thought but after Gaz getting me worried I had the front wheel of my FF to check the brakes today. Turns out the RRS uses a block shaped harmonic damper which points up vertically, the FF uses a different shape damper that doesn't protrude up. So hopefully, as long as the callipers are roughly the same otherwise they should fit. If not then I'll have to send them back and get normal winter tyres Smile
