Displaying Arrival Time On The Mk4 Sat Nav.........

......how do you get it to tell you the estimated time of arrival at the bottom of the screen ?

I just have "Time" and then dashes.........

Is this normal ?

from looking on the bmw forums, it looks like you have to code the nav to the car...........

not sure an l322 vin will be valid........ 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

OK, just spent half hour with Navcoder, and that was waiting for comms to start on the usb from my laptop, have selected L30 Range Rover, the VIN was queried correctly, ticked the box that says "Show Arrival Time", but then it said only for E39 something, coded the nav module and it still doesn't work.

So unless someone has upgraded to Mk4 nav and has the arrival time working, I'm guessing it can't be done........

You need to set the Nav clock for it to give you an arrival time. Go to the settings menu and set the time and date - when set it should adjust the analogue clock in the dash, if not set the analogue clock will continue running and can still show the righttime. When set, you should see the time in the bottom left corner.

Thanks Richard.

I shall try that, but as the unit has been in for just over 12 months now, I will have changed the time when the clocks moved forwards and backwards. Worth a try again though.

Are you the RichardP of E39 M5 fame ? as I'm pretty sure I sat next to you at lunch time in the pub during the M5 meet at Curdworth in May 2009..........

I have the Mk4 unit you helped Danny Otter with.......

Cheers

Make sure you set the date too.

Yes, I am the the M5 RichardP, that meet was a while ago now! Danny got and M5 not long after, but I think he only kept it 6 months or so.

He kept it about 18 months if I remember right, I drove it a few times. He swapped it for a petrol 2003 Range Rover Vogue, paid £11k for it and sold it after 6 months for £5k as the gearbox was on the way out, and he didn't have enough money to fix it.

He then had a Volvo S60 diesel for a bit and last month bought a 2003 Discovery 2 Td5 ES......

I shall prob see him next weekend.

Just entered the time and date again this morning, and it says the time OK at the bottom left of the display, but the arrival time is still not shown.

Further to that, I now have "BMW ASSIST" as an option in the menu, which wasn't there before, and is obviously no use to me.

Does anyone know what I need to do with Navcoder to get rid of it ?

Is it talking to the ULF phone unit ? Does that need recoding too ?

20 questions...........!!

Cheers

Not sure how you've managed to get the Assist option, did you change the 'BMW Assist' option in NavCoder?

Have you tried with both settings of 'Show Arrival Time' in NavCoder? If this setting is wrong either way you don't get the arrival time.

I believe the unit originally came from an X5. The chap I bought it off had the Range Rover splash screen added......

Thinking on, it may have had "Emergency" in red before, and all that was added when I put the bluetooth ULF module in to get "Telephone".........around Feb time.

MMmmmm

Over the weekend I changed the setup from an X5 to a L30 Range Rover with Navcoder . in trying to get the arrival time to work. I think all its done is "European-ised" the text, so Emergency is now BMW Assist........

Are there any other type of map disk for the Mk4 ? as it was never officially fitted in an RR ? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
