20" Sport Alloys on my L322? Views/comments?

MOT due next month on my 2004 L322 and 2 of the tyres are bordering illegal, with the other 2 having 4-5mm tread left. I'm going to replace all four tyres before the MOT, but before I do, I've been considering upgrading to 20" wheels and wondered what the consensus is on these:-

Correct me if I am wrong, but I'm pretty sure they will fit, although I know I will have to change to a later style wheel nut and locking nut - c.£70

It's going to cost me c.£500 to replace the 19" tyres on mine anyway, but for another £400 I could have a near-new set of the 20" Sport alloys with brand new Michelin Latitude tyres.

I know lots of peeps prefer the original 7 spoke wheels, mine being.....

But any thoughts/views welcome - good, bad or indifferent! Could I be about to make a big mistake? Cheers

Greg

I have a friend with a set of these (but replicas) and the good on his L322 Overfinch.

Good value for money especially if you can sell your existing Thumbs Up

PS: Bear in mind you may be able to get a full set of Autobiography Wheels & Tyres as new from Jordon @ Overfinch for £1000-£1200.

I think the point is the tyres go with the wheels in this offer and they are 275 40 20.

These do work but to achieve the same circumference you need 275/45 20 or the stock 255/50 20.

Thanks for that - I didn't know about the Overfinch deals. One to bear in mind. Wink

The Michelin tyres on the ebay deal retail at over £200 each, hence my keen interest at £900 for the whole set, including the alloys. But I am also very interested in the overall "look" of this alloy on the RR, compared to the stock 19" that I currently have. Cheers

Thumbs Up No worries... Just bare in mind the 22's do look considerably bigger than 20's and with Sport tyres the 20's will look smaller still...
