Help, how do I extinguish an engine managment light Merc

I'm selling my 04 Mercedes c class 270cdi estate this week. I've got a deal agreed (trade in against another car) with a dealer down south & am heading there on wed. The Mercedes has always run flawlessly until tonight on my way into town when I overtook another car the car sort of lost power for a microsecond then recovered but the engine management came on! Big Cry The car is still running perfectly & was returning 52mpg (oh if only the FFRR would do that) with no unusual noises. Oil levels are perfect, temp is fine, turning off & on makes no difference. Can anyone suggest what I can do? Would disconnecting the battery overnight clear the fault?

Try pressing ( and keep pressing) the lock button on the remote in the start position whilst starting the car and turn off ( whilst still holding the lock button ) , this should reset any warnings on the dashboard( it worked with my 2005 E55 )

If it didn't reset with the ignition switched off and back on you will need to get the car plugged into STAR (MB's equivalent of the IID Tool) to clear the fault

Find an indie close to the dealership and have him reset it before pushing it onto the dealers forecourt Laughing Laughing Laughing

Try the battery disconnect method we use on the FFRRs. Or get some black duct tape Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
