20 or 22 inch 'style 11' wheels

Good evening, I just purchased a 2008 Range Rover Vogue and the wheels albeit in perfect condition are not my cup of tea. They are the standard 19 inch wheel. I really like the look of the OEM 20 inch 'style 11' wheel or maybe the replica 22 inch version.
Does anyone have any experience with the 22 inch version regarding ride quality and also what is the story with the TPMS? Would I need to purchase the pressure sensors seperately?

Thanks
Rory.

IMO Don't go down the 22" route.

The ride is very hard and you will find it hard to get a set that are built for the weight. i have seen a few that have cracked and destroyed the tyre and wheel.

20" look Great on the FFRR

Rory

If you must go to 20s but not the 22s as you know what our roads are like. Additionally moving to 22s really does spoil the ride Thumbs Up

Stick with the 19's. You have a car designed for comfort, why compromise that comfort by fitting bigger wheels? No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

Sorry to offend anyone tht has them.

But IMO 22s look gash. And you will get people asking if they can buy drugs all the time.

And people will no longer like you as they will think your an idiot.

Just my opinion tho Smile

Unless you are an anorak about wheels and tyres , how many people actually look at a car or a FF and think " Jesus he's got 22" alloys on " or any other size for that matter. .....

If you like 22"s just get them .... Thumbs Up

I've got 22's on my car, and strangely enough, I've never been approached by people looking for some guy called Charlie all the time! Whistle

In saying that, I'm considering going back to 20's, not for any other reason than I fancy a change. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

IMHO the FFRR looks & drives far better with 22's fitted... But then im maybe younger than most of the 22" haters on this site...

All modern cars now have low profile tyres, most lower profile than FFRR 22's

As my wife said, the more inches the better! I have 18's, 20's & 22's, although not fitted at the same time! Handling is much sharper with the 22's, I run them summer only, never been approached for drugs either Whistle it's definitely an age thing!

Ok, I'm just looking for opinion on ride quality from people who already have 22's fitted, not from people who havent. No offence to those who have commented but jesus, we are allowed to have personal preferences that differ from others. I happen to like the look of the 22's as they fill the arches better, some people don't and I respect that. What they do with their car is their own business. What I do with my car is mine.

So I'll ask the question again just to be annoying, what is the ride quality like with 22" wheels and is there anything that I should be aware of with the tyre pressure sensors if switching?

I don't feel much of a difference between 20 and 22's to be honest. Just be careful of potholes, as the lack of sidewall is more likely to cause cracks and miss-shaped wheels.

As for the TPMS sensors, I would ditch them and turn off the warnings using the IIDTool, as they are a right royal PITA! Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Can't say I noticed a difference in ride quality when I had the 22 on the sport but I would never fit them to the full fat we have now even though they are still in the garage due to the crap roads and the hassle with cracking the alloys happened twice.
If you are going the 22 route all I would say is make sure you get proper load rated wheels as this would help.
Have a friend who has original over finch wheels and he has managed to crack one as well but it depends who big a pothole or kerb they have hit I suppose. Gone
