I have a FFRR 2005 with 19" wheels on it (255/55/19). I got a puncture today and noticed that I had a 18" full size wheel for a spare in the boot.
Is this norm? would it have been ok to put the 18" on in order to get me to a garage. luckily I was close by to a petrol station so just filled up air and went to get tyre repaired.
but im just wondering for future reference if I need to buy an 19" for a spare and get rid of the 18" that I have.

It looks as though your car was originally fitted with 18" wheels - I'm pretty sure the car would have have five wheels the same size. The temporary fitment of the 18" wheel will be ok for the car, so long as the diameter of the tyre is very similar. I stress the word temporary as it is not legal to have wheels of differing diameters on the same axle.

On a personal note, on every car I've had including those with a space saver, the first thing I've done is get another proper wheel and tyre - then you know you're ok for the future -

think of that 18'' as a spacesaver spare...just use it to get you home or to a tyre repair shop. ... - .- -.

yeah I just needed to know that it was safe to drive with the 18" wheel and knowing that it wouldn't cause any damage to the car.
