Jet washer

Thinking of buying a jet washer as I'm sick of cleaning wheels, etc. I want a decent one but don't know where to look for the best type. Have he's that 2000w ones are really good as they have plenty of power. Does anyone have any experience good or bad please?

The Karcher range are really good.
Had one for over 20 years, still going strong.

I picked one up last year off eBay, top model Hozelock 150 bar and comes on wheels with 2 detergent bottles and 2 different lances. It's got great write ups on the review sites and does everything I want from a washer. Priced at nearly £230 in b& q but only paid £65 , hardly used and looks like new. I think you get a lot of people buy these and then realise they don't really have a use for them but this is great for the alloys on the FFRR.

I swear you will never see anything like this ever again....watch it..drink it in.

I had a karcher. Lasted less than 4 years and didn't have a hard life. After that I bought a cheap non brand that had loads more umph but I'm about to take it back as the hose keeps blowing off.

Incidentally, I never found the Karcher much good for alloy wheels. All the black stuff on the inside of the wheel would not come off. Quick rub with a brush/cloth then a jet wash worked but not the jet wash alone. I do this twice a year for two cars when the winter wheels go on/come off.

Get a good alloy wheel cleaner spary and leave it for a few minutes then just hose it off. Works wonders and then use some was to seal the wheels and something cheap ontop like demon shine adn the dirt doesnt stick anywhere near as much then Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

My dad's Karcher has lasted for ever and was used quite a bit. Mine has worked for a few years and hasn't been used since I am in Nigeria (it is packed away in my storage container). I would go for a Karcher again but will check what type does best in the various consumer test reports. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

As ex car detailer i would also recommend Karcher ...... but go for one o their professional range which have brass fittings and internals rather than plastic which break after short period.

As for wheels ... agree spray cleaner ( non acid based ) then leave for a few mins, then powerwash and finally seal after each time.

Couple of times a year I will remove wheels, fully clean and seal with wheel wax. Stephen Gazard

Wow! Some great advice. The outlet site looks like there are some real bargains there and I would probably go for the most powerful one and pay more. I don't agree that a hose works in any degree even when you spray the wheels first. There just isn't enough power. I do wax the wheels from time to time but not mad on the idea of doing this every time I wash them as I'm trying to save time.

You certainly don't need to wax every time ..... But a spray seal as you dry them works wonders. Stephen Gazard

Stephen any ideas where I would buy a spray seal? Is this an industrial spray or would autoglym make something suitable?
