Seat leather renovation?

My Drivers seat has some wear on it, presumably from its fat lazy arse previous owner who slid off the seat all the time. Censored

I know it can be fixed by a professional renovator but has anyone got any home cures for this that actually work?

there was a chap selling the matched right colour dye / paint on ebay to touch it up yourself - as it is a coating as well as a dye

Try liquidleather.com they sell scuffmaster which is colour matched. I used it on ivory leather and was amazed at what it did. I have used the cleaner and the conditioner and they are all top notch products.

I used a company who's name escapes me right now,

They send out liquid dye and lightning/darkning agents for around £25-30 and I'd highly recommend them.

I had the same problem on my drivers seat and it's now dissapeared.

They recommended treating it with Gliptone prior to treating.

I'll get the bottle out of the cupboard when I get in and post up details ! TDV8 HST Sport **Current**

When I purchased my car from Hunters (inchcape) I chose the Supagard treatment. The leather was looking similarly tired prior to purchase and was improved markedly when I took delivery.

I have subsequently found the Supagard leather treatment very good at restoring the factory fresh new look. It leaves my black seats with a uniform uncracked matt finish - very satisfying. I would happliy buy more of the product again.

I'm amazed nobody has suggested black boot polish to recolur the leather as it's what we all use on black leather shoes... Discovery 4 HSE

How bad is it Adam, as you say, hard to tell from the piccy. I had the drivers seat base section replaced last year just before the warranty ran out (it had a scuff mark around 3mm wide by around 5mm long). It had been there since I bought it and I assumed it would be classed as wear and tear but it was covered. I was then worried the leather wouldn't match (mines Aspen green/ white leather) but it did. As yours is only a couple of years old, I'd have a word with the dealer first. Steve

Try www.carleatherdye.co.uk

I was really impressed with the results.

My seat was a little worse but now you'd never see it!

My father-in-law swears by beeswax to keep the leather in tip top condition. I used the Megiuar's leather conditioner and that works a treat.
