Does anyone run these? Nexen Rodian

Last time I was in the Dealers they offered me these tyres at £154 fitted and balanced, you can get them on ebay for less than £100 each.

Are they any good? Don't know enough about them.

Had them on a Shogun and thought they were unbelievably good for the money...no longer regarded as budget tyres by my local fitters. Also my son fitted Rodian AT2 to his Navara last November and has put 17,000 miles on them and honestly they look just like new and handle better than so called premium brands!! big Thumbs Up from me

I have written about them. They completely stopped my fatty aquaplaning, I thought they were good in the wet.
I found them quiet on the road as well. I do think the sidewalls are very soft. They appear to bulge as in not enough pressure, but it is just a characteristic of the tyre. I would think twice if you plan on doing a fair bit of offroading as I think rocks etc will damage the sidewalls. A fine tyre for road use tho'.... I would say well worth the money.

I bought a car (not a RR) which had Nexens on and they were horrid.

Had nearly new Nexens 20" on the car since I have had it (5 years, with an 18 month gap when running on Generals 18"), still plenty of tread left on the fronts (although misalignment at the rear destroyed the rears) 60,000 miles on....

I'm a tyre agnostic, lot of fuss about nothing in most situations IMHO, but these tyres have done really well. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

I have 2 new Pirelli Scorpions from Dom ready to fit when I need them, not sure whether to try and get 2 more on eBay (slightly worn) or fit a pair of these on the other axle.

Is mixing two tyre types a big no no? Discovery 4 HSE

I agree with Stan to keep them all 4 the same make/type.

On the Nexens, I have them as well as I wanted a cheap tyre, considering the abuse they get here (all at low speed but still). Didn't want expensive super tyres. I have absolutely no complaints about them and heard a lot of good stories on the forum and "around the net". Not all good but almost all good. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Re: Does anyone run these? Nexen Rodian

Main Dealer fitted 4 of these on our SC before recently selling it to us. I expressed surprise that a MD would put 'budget' tyres on such a car/ had never heard of them. MD explained that many RR customers order them and that their Service Manager recommends them as a high performing, very durable (MD said expect at least 20k mls from them) and good quality all round tyre. I then did some research and whilst reviews can be mixed, the majority of people who use them with an open mind/ without brand snobbery, seem to rate them highly.

They look quite good on the car and to date whilst not having covered many miles, they seem a good all round tyre and are quiet.

Used Nexen Roadian on my P38 and they were very good including in the snow and the wet.

I actually found that they also wore better than the michelin's I had on previously and were very comfortable on road and at motorway speeds. African Bush Junkie ... in London!
