My mate has a 57 plate with 195,000 on the clock! He's not a member of this forum, and is not mechanically minded, in fact I doubt if he has ever put windscreen washer water in! He has a L405 on order which comes in February so it will have well over 200,000 on it when it comes up for sale.

I don't recall any major issues and its the same engine and box. And since his warranty ran out its been serviced at a local garage! He does swear by simple oil and filter changes every 10k so there is a reference.

Out old landcruiser was on 240k when it went bang, bottom rad hose came off and warped the head, and cracked the block nothing else was wrong......

Patched it up but it wouldnt start very well, so off it went. If the hose hadnt gone i reckon it would have carred on indefinitely.... Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Adriatic Blue

Hello

2002 BMW 4.4 158k miles

But the full story is a complete auto box rebuild & new torque convertor at 130k and after the timing chain started flailing around, a failed helicioil and intermittent overheating issues, a replacement engine was fitted at 157k.
I love this car though and am now looking forward to many more miles of driving with no major mechanicals. A bit dearer though now as I let the LPG system go with the old engine.

Yup, in the family, we have 2X5.0 (2012). 2X4.2 (2006 and 2008).

makes my 147 on original bits seem barely run in!!

1/2 your oil and filter intervals and your always going to get a longer lasting engine, even using the cheapest oil it will be all the better for it.

Also dont forget the journeys matter a lot. IE short stop start low mileage trips where the engine doesnt warm through thoroughly are not great for long term reliability. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Cheers Very Happy ive had it since 130k always serviced on time and never let any jobs go too long before fixing. but it works hard for a living as it should.

I think the huge thing over here is the weather, they never get cold and there isnt a spot of rust anywhere. also I worked for scania for 20 odd years and in the uk if a truck got to 250k without dropping the sump you were doing well, over here if you drop the sump before a million klm's theres something wrong.
Even then its only wear and tear, everything is wearing nicely and some shells as a preventative measure gets another million.
best thing nothing ever seizes Very Happy my knuckles actually look quit good LOL 03 TD6 vogue....Epsom, very nice

2004 V8 bought 2010 with 58000 miles, now has 121000 under her belt.
Has been costly though; recon gearbox @ 100000 miles, blown head gasket 5000 miles later. Two new radiators, two years apart, various suspension bushes etc. Not too bad, but it generally hurts when they do go wrong!
Used every day for my business.
Still in love!
