In the recent "light rain" we've had a problem has manifested itself with my 06 MY Vogue.

Mrs W went out in it today and after it being parked up on level ground for a few hours in a storm, she drove home. On the way back she had water dripping on her right foot straight from setting off. Later in the journey she noticed it more driving uphill. The driver's footwell is damp, but not saturated.

First thing I thought of was drain tubes - which I haven't checked yet. But after looking into the roof space ie between the roof panel and headlining, I saw a large heavy section wide rubber seal was adrift behind the driver's side. It looks like it has been pushed back by the sunroof sliding into the roof.

Has anyone had this before - and how do you fix it ? Access is limited to say the least . . .

Secondly, is there a definitive way to check & clear the drain tubes ? Is there a diagram available ?

I had a garage that didn't know what they were doing, completely a drain tube using an air line. NEVER USE AN AIR LINE. EVER.

I was told the correct procedure is to use the plastic 'cord' for a Weed Wacker. Slowly and carefully feed the line down the drain hole and it will knock any obstructions out at the bottom.

The drain tubes are next to impossible to replace properly, so, if you're uncomfortable doing it yourself, get a GOOD LR knowledgeable garage to do it for you. It's one of those 'very easy if you know how' jobs.

Sorry, no idea about the rubber seals.

It appeared the water was coming in the OS driver's A pillar from a previously poorly fitted replacement screen . . .

So, it's had a new (Pilkington) genuine screen this week at National Windscreens.

Can't wait for it to rain . . . .

Well, it's rained and there appears to be no water coming in - the driver's area carpet is bone dry. Phew !

The chaps at NW said the screen on the car was a (Genuine Pilkington) replacement which had been poorly fitted and incorrectly sealed at the OS A pillar.
