bluetooth

Hi,
I am having trouble getting a couple of phones to work with the bluetooth on a 2005 model year.

I can match the phones & they show up on the display, no problem, you can dial a call & it will ring, but the moment to other person picks up, it disconnects. The same happens when you answer a call, it will ring as it should, but drops as soon as you answer.
The phones causing the problem, are a Nokia 6300 & a Motorola razor V3.

I tried a slightly older nokia & an older Motorola razor, no problem, everything works.

Any ideas?

Regards
Steve

could be the Default settings on the phones which will be found in their sub-menus when using Bluetooth : ie "Headset" or "Wired car Kit" or "Wireless car Kit" plus do you have any Active Diverts on any of these Phones. ====================================

"Open Mike Night " sounded like a lot of fun until i found out i was going to an Autopsy

Hello, I'm new to the forum with a question.
Has anyone managed to resolve this disconnection conundrum?
I have exactly the same issue, same car, same phone, same problem!
Any help much appreciated.

Thank you for your reply.
I had seen that thread but it relates to the 2002-2004 BMW system RR, so it doesn't address the problem that I have.
Mine is a 2005 Vogue with a factory fitted phone system. On connecting my Nokia 6300 (listed as fully compatable on the Land Rover site) via bluetooth I get a connection. However, as soon as someone answers a call, incoming or outgoing, it disconnects.
As an aside, I always have to type in 2121 when the car & phone connect via bluetooth even though it is selected to action the connection automatically.
Any ideas much appreciated!

I had to do that 2121 code with nearly all bluetooth phones, except on one occassion i had the Nokia N80 which connected and disconnected automatically without using the 2121 code ........

With regard to the 6300 is there a sub menu on that phone that tells you in my earlier post of "headset" "wireless car kit".

It's been that long since i mucked about with phones , hence the reason i just use the cradle phone in the centre armrest and sync diverts from that to my everyday use phone, and vice versa.

There isn't a sub-menu with anything remotely like "Headset" or "wireless car kit" unfortunately.
I may end up having to look for a Nokia cradle & follow your idea of Sync diverts etc.

I don't even know anyone with a Nokia 6300 to help you out......

Found this on one of the Nokia Forums......

I am having trouble trying to pair a 6300 with my Range Rover . DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO DO THIS AS THE CALLS KEEP DROPPING. NOKIA SAY THAT THEY CANNOT GIVE ME THE OLD SOFTWARE ( I NEED THE JAN 07 VERSION) AS MY PHONE IS THE AUGUST 07 VERSION NOKIA SAY THEY CANNOT GO BACK THE WAY WITH UPDATES.............

have you cycled the phone menus? It seems something like the trusted one or the discoverable on 3 min.

I have a moto V8 and it works fine most of the times. Sometimes it doesn't disconect from the car. Some other times the car screen shows a ''phone not conected'' message, but when I dial a number on the phone it conects itself and works perfect, and the same happens when i'm receiving a call.

I also had a Porsche design 9521 and it also worked fine...

But do try messing up with the phone menus. Your problem seems to come from there.

I have been using the Nokia 6300 because it is listed as being fully compliant on the Range Rover site and I happened to have an old phone spare.
I did try to use the phone with the old Nokia software (v5) but that didn't work so I updated to the newest Nokia software and that doesn't work either.
Nothing on the menus or sub-menus that I can find that gives any options to enable or disable Bluetooth or Headset or Wireless or Phone book.
Stumped!

I used a 6300 with the bluetooth in my '05 S/C with no probs. As I mentioned somewhere in another post when I got the car I could not get any phone to work. I unpluged the blue tooth module, let it sit for 10 min. plugged it back in and everything has been fine since!

Thanks Ivan! Thumbs Up
