I may regret this.....

My FFRR currently sits on the factory 19's and I was thinking about fitting 20's...however a drive this evening in a FFRR with 22's showed no difference in ride to that of a 20...and 22's seem to be cheaper ?

So do I go for 22's for summer and put some MTR's on the 19's...

OR do I just get some 20's and fit new tyres ??

Dilema time.... Whistle Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I'm in a similar quandary - 275 40 tyres on 20" rims or 255 55 tyres on 20" rims? Which would give the best all round ride?
Us Cheshire boys can't make their mind up! Very Happy

Stan, I'm running 255/55/20's on mine and ran next to 3 cars on the French motorway today (all with large digital displays in the middle of their dash) and my speedo read exactly bang on 130kph too Thumbs Up So I think it really makes little difference Thumbs Up

Why would the speedo be out? The 255 55's are on a set of 20" RR L405 alloys I'm looking at. I'm currently using 18" alloys that came with the motor.

Because the l322 FF runs 255/50/20 not 255/55/20 which is the size for the later L405... Thumbs Up

Actually 22's can look really good, and like you say the ride is not different

I only found the steering to be a bit heavier

I've had both 20s and 22s on different cars.

The ride was no firmer on 22s but they did corner better. They also kernel more easily.

IMHO, 22s only look right with some sort of body kit - mine was Overfinch, but the 2010 front end and steps can be enough - I just think that the wheels look too big on a standard car.

The OE stuff does look good....but my budget won't stretch to fresh wheels and rubber atm, and looking around the 22s are cheaper than 20s - plus I have been offered some 22" tyres - still would prefer the OE look if am totally honest but we'll see..... Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........
