Not sure what is goosed! He bought it like that and never done anything with it just seen this motor and though it may fix it?

The tilt motor is the only component that adjusts the up and down movement. If it's not working at all, the motor will be the culprit, almost 100% sure. Discovery 4 HSE

Is there a separate motor for the reach? That works fine just tilt up and down doesn't |

Yes, there are two motors, one for reach and one for tilt. They work independently of each other.

Have you still got the tilt motor by any chance? Not sure if the "Sold" was prior to the last posting or not. John
