Engine turning over but not starting

Hi all.
I have a slight problem, a non starter.
Car late 03 m62 engined, ie petrol, range rover l322
It all started last week, i tried to start one day and it turned over but did not start. I exited the car locked and unlocked got back in and it turned over and started.
A few days later A bearing went in my alternator, unconnected i an sure. Engine started every time as i got it to a take apart location on my drive.
Today i finished replacing the alternator and tried to start. It will turn over but not start. No unusual messages apart from 0x90 ignition signal on the instrument console.
I suspected the chip so removed from the key, when placed on the key area the steering unlocks etc.
Using the key allows me to turn the motor over. It almost caught one in the early first attempt, but nothing since.
I have tried battery back off then back on, earthing leads when doing. Open close lock etc doors. Nothing gets me a start situation.
I initially suspected the immobiliser, but the chip is being seen by the system as it unlocks the steering.
I have used my iid and it does say ignition on, if that confirms chip seen?
Any ideas?
I suspect the crank pick up, do any of the iid settings allow checking of this? Ie engine revs signal or is this a report from the engine ecu?
I also have a black box, if anyone knows how to get to crank pickup, immobiliser on/off, etc
Any help appreciated....

I had a problem like this on a 5 series, turned out to be a failing relay and the rolling codes between the some ECU's got out of sync.

Started off not firing occasionally and after a reset would fire immediately, then became more frequent and eventually just wouldn't fire, the relay wasn't expensive but I had to get it recoded.

Not a FFRR but might be a similar problem, I'm sure someone will be along shortly to point you in the right direction but getting the fault codes is probably a must.

Possible, did they throw up error codes?

It did but I was just using a cheap ELM327 OBD 2 fault code reader, it threw up some codes and I changed some sensors but it made no difference, I eventually had to bite the bullet and had it recovered to an inde who couldn't figure it out, had it brought back to my house and an ex BMW mechanic with a laptop I was put in contact with came to take a look, 10 mins later it was running, changed the offending relay and no problems after that.

Mine has no error messages apart from 0x90.
I will be looking at fuel pressure tomorrow, i dismissed initially due to the sudden nature of the problem but i need to check.
I have a nagging feeling its the crank pickup though.
Which is why i would like to see if i can see it on a diagnostic kit...
