I always get my annual service done in November. Items I look at are the use of silicon on the door seals...stops them being iced shut. Give the FBH a couple of trial runs, so you are sure it will work when you want it to. I change the front windscreen wipers (Bosch 808s) every year as well in November.

Am thinking for the first time I might do the waxoyl thing......

When you say silicone on the door seals, do you mean like bumper/tyre gel?

This year I will make sure I buy LIDL's winter windscreen wash as soon as I see it, as it sells out within days up here. Works to -40 I believe.... Previously..

I'm a big fan of the Lidl stuff myself. Bought 2 lots last time and always make sure I have it in my bottle come winter time. Its never frozen up on me yet and I use it with 50% screenwash 50% water mix as its never gonna get to -40 in the UK. I hope!!!

I just waxoyled underneath my FF.

I removed all of the plastic sill trim, small panel with the front mud flap attached and the wheel arch liners . I cleaned it all up as best I could, and sprayed a total of around 10 - 15l of waxoyle into the sills, and all of the exposed compressed tin cans (or what ever its built from ) that I could get to from under the car.

I did it all on my belly, with the car at offroad height with the wheels fitted. It took most of the day and I had planned to only do one side of the car, but when the reality of how dirty a job it was hit me, I done the whole car at the same time to save me having to get covered in waxoyle again. It gets in your eyes and leaves a nice "foggy sheen" over your vision every time you blink for about 2 days

I am glad its done, but dont wish to be repeating that job again soon.

For reference, I used a spray gun and heated the waxoyle on a stove first, to make it liquid enough to spray.

To sumarise... its a ball-ache of a job. Prob much easier if you have a lift. MY2010 TDV8 Vogue Ipanema Sand

I know lots on the forum polish their cars to death - I'm not knocking them - but personally I spend more time in winter cleaning underneath. I've got an underbody lance for my pressure washer which gets in all in nooks and crannies.

Plus, it keeps the garage happy when it goes for service or MOT . . .

 Where do you go after one of these . . . ?
