Good grief, how complicated is it (audio stuff in the boot)

Had some torrential rain here and when I got in the car this morning, cracking and strange noises from the stereo, which just showed the logo.

Checked in the boot and the BT module was wet Evil or Very Mad

I unplugged the BT module fibre optic connector to shut everything up. took it out and its now drying on the hearth.

Question is, was that issue or is it the amp? Only the BT module had water on it and the rest of the cubby was dry.

Back to the thread title....how bloody complicated is that stuff in the back to get out Shocked

I think I might take the amp out tomorrow to check it, but christ on a bike, there are about 10 interlocking brackets holding all that stuff in, surely I dont have to take it ALL out just to do the amp?

I fixed the leak by the way Thumbs Up

Yep you have to take most of it out to get to the AMP, but TBH once you’ve done them a couple of themes they’re not too bad. Thumbs Up

If you download the workshop manual from the Wiki area, you'll find a step-by-step guide that shows you how to remove the trim etc in the correct order to get at the infotainment rack. It's under Electrical/Electronics/Digital Audio Module. You can do it without removing the trim, but it depends on how much blood-loss you're prepared to put up with Rolling with laughter 2011 TDV8 4.4 Vogue SE in Galway Green with Black leather
