I just would like some tyre reccomendations as I'm looking to change mine, some snow and off road ability would be good, it seems to be a size that doesn't offer much in the way of good tyres though.

Me too, they look fantastic, road noise is up a bit but not unbearable - concrete road surfaces are the worst. They are the only 20" AT tyre that fits, almost the same size and is speed rated for the RR. Fuel consumption seems to be slightly up but then there are chaps on the D3 forum getting around 50k miles out if a set, so this offsets the fuel - especially since the Scorpions on mine were goosed at 11k on the front & 16k on the rear!

Thanks, I will look into these, I was thinking of going for a set of Scorpions but if you can get a set of Grabbers on 20s those would definately be preferable and I expect cheaper too.
Is there no difference at all for putting these on instead of 255 50 20s?.

No problem at all fitting them and no negatives - really good on flooded roads as well. I hit a flood last week and no aqua planing which surprised me - I put it down to the 11mm tread depth clearing water, I would have expected the old Scorpions to have struggled. Plus they were only £164 a tyre fitted and balanced

I also like the look of them - the std 255's look a bit too feminine on a mans car

What about 265 55 20 or 255 55 20 for more comfort. The 45 profile I always found a bit hard when I had them on my disco. I know speedo would be out but not by much. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

That profile is getting into L405 diameter territory. Not a problem but it will raise your gearing, fuel consumption will go down but it will also negatively affect acceleration - if that matters.

I have been running a set of L405 wheels with 255/55/20's on and while they were comfortable and quiet and the slightly larger diameter corrected my speedo reading they did slightly raise the gearing. Not by much but it was occassionaly noticable. I only realised this when I refitted my original wheels with 255/55/19's on. Not a show stopper but when the 20's wear out I'll be fitting 255/50/20's to retain the original design diameter.

I have been very happy with Toyos since ditching the Continentals which cost a fortune and wore out a little too rapidly for my liking.

As a few have said the General AT is available in 275/45x20 and Cooper LTZ also but on back order.

@ Nappler I would give Andy a go on these tyres, I would have bought mine from him given the good feedback off all Martin's Forums - but a round trip of around 800 miles when I needed them wasn't economically viable and my local fitter wouldn't fit tyres sourced elsewhere via mail order ....

I just fitted a set of 20's with the grabber AT yres, they have huge looking tread depth, and look quite angry/noisy tyres. but they seem to me to be really quiet, went for a 200 mile trip on them today, 80mph etc -so much quieter than my old 22's that i'm retiring. I came here coz I was curious of the tyre size for comparison to standard size. I will post a pic

Mist be the sound deadening on the ff. i have a set on one of the hilux and they are noticeably noisier than the eqivalent bridgestones on the other lux. I hear them driving past as well as from in the cab and the at's seem noisier from outside too.

Not tried them on the ff but would be a bit agressive for my purposes in any case. The wranglers on my 19's copes with all the cold stuff last year, plus a bit of light muddy.

That said the grabbers on the lux coped well for the entire year conditions wise. And do look chunkier  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
