Where to buy tow bar assembly

Hi Guys,

I'm looking to buy a tow bar for my 53 Plate TD6 to fit myself.

Are there specific makes to look out for or is it an OEM part??

Any recommendations on websites/suppliers where I could buy one.

cheers,

Alex

shame your so far away alex a friend of mine is a towbar supplier & fitter but i don't think he does postage. Sad
you also need the loom from lr dealers so it matches the suspension when plugged in. Thumbs Up

I bought one of these:

http://www.towequipe.co.uk/products/towbar...-02on.html

and then paid an indy £100 to fit it. They said the towbar itself was very simple but the electrics took the time due to needing a relay box of some sort to stop the check control from getting faulty readings.

Looks really neat and has looks far less obtrusive when removed that the factory one.

Hi hughjayteens - Any chance you could provide photo of what it looks like on the car for me/us?

Also - Who fitted yours for you?

Thanks Thumbs Up

You'll have to excuse the crappy iPhone shots - my digi cam is flat and the iPhone is pants in bright light (and low light for that matter!).

The armature part is a littel flatter than the factory one which curves up at each end, so is slightly more visible (but being black it vanishes on my car at least) but the receiver is much smaller and neater than the factory one. The removable section fits perfectly into the right hand boot storage panel too.

I had it fitted at http://www.mrhlandrover.com/ who do the warranty work for the dealer I bought the car from (dodgy rear PDC!) but I plan to use them for servicing from now on as they seem to know their stuff and are sensibly priced.
