^...er, he's east of you. Smile

You could reach him by going west but you'd have to go nearly all the way round the world, which I agree is a little far for a forum meet.

Or are you not in Wales?

This is how I see the meet going;
The Venue will be my company's car park, in the week, it's a busy place, but empty at weekends. In can cater for about a hundred cars, so there's plenty of capacity. I figured that I could arrange for 'nameplates' (the type that hang from the internal mirror) for confirmed visitors, so that others can immediately identify fellow guests and start conversations accordingly. If we aimed for arrival, say from 9 - 10am, had a nice continental style breakfast with drinks etc, and spent a while socialising. At a pre arranged time, we could go for a short 'cruise' around the pre determined country route (imagine the sight of 20, 30 or even more FF's burbling down the road together) returning to the site for a leisurely BBQ style lunch, either inside in our restaurant if the weathers not so good, or outside if it is good. The idea then is that you're able to leave when you're ready, and hopefully everyone will have a good time, and made 'real' new friends as well as banter mates on this forum.
I fully appreciate that this idea won't suit some members, and there's a great deal of members located nowhere near the East Midlands, but equally, I've tried to pick a weekend where the kids are not on holiday, so it's just a long weekend for most, and if the co census is for Saturday 3 May, it still leaves you a couple of days at home if that's your choice.
The hosting site is my company, a large clean vehicle auction centre, and originally I had planned to host the parking in our sale hall, but a major client is holding an auction on the following Tuesday, so the hall will be full, but we do have the best food facilitates for an auction, in the UK, with our own chef!
He's volunteered to be there for us and supply the food etc, as well as Cook it for us, but there's a cost to that obviously, as well as signage for the cars etc.
I therefore propose, if you're keen to participate in this meeting, I need to take a booking fee of, say £30 per couple / car. Having consulted with chef for the two meals and all the necessary back up staff, this will cover that off, and anything left over having covered costs, will be donated to the FFRR site management.
If however there's little or no appetite for this, then I'll leave it alone, but I'm hoping you're as keen as I am to meet a few fellow members.
Let me know what you think, sooner rather than later, as this take some putting together as you'll appreciate!

I'll be in some place called Knoydart in Scotland with my Mountain Bike, apparently cars are banned, otherwise I would've come along. Geoff

Great idea, but 30 quid seems expensive for a bacon sarnie!

Wealy; the thirty quid is proposed for both brekky and a substantial BBQ type lunch, and is for two people. So really it's £7.50 per meal per person, and I've got to pay chef and his staff out of that. As I said, if there's any surplus funds, these will be given to the forum website for upkeep.

Graemec; if you've ever been to eat at BCA, you'll guess they don't have a chef!
Seriously though, it is not at Measham, it is Coalville.

Hope you can, and want to attend the meet

I guess that no one fancies this particulate attempt? If anyone does, please let me know sharpish, as it will take time to sort properly. Original poll response indicated Bank Holiday Saturday as the favoured day, so please think about it.
