I took mine offroad 2 weeks after getting it .....
But
1/ I bought it used already
2/ I specifically asked the dealer not to valet it ( except the inside ) when i bought it as I knew i was going to be greenlaning with it .
By the way I negociated a further 500 Euro reduction by doing that
3/ Around Marseille there are quite a few private properties , or off-road parks , where you can do it .
4/ Just in summer its restricted to prevent bush & forest fires . Jaybear

Mine goes off road but that's normally towing either a trailer full of firewood across fields or my caravan. But I drive a bobtailed disco1 for off road trials ( and that does get muddy) Thumbs Up

went off road twice in my td6 , ruined the paint work

Stan, I assume one of those was Salisbury, yes?

Well, since doing that one (where I too picked up a few scratches) I learned a technique for avoiding some of them. Pallet wrap mate, like domestic clingfilm but shed loads tougher. Stands up to all but the toughest brambles.

I bought a couple of rolls off the bay and it's saved me loads of work tidying up.

As for the mud. Pressure washer, lots of patience, a shortened nozzle and some scruffy clothes. You can get into the nooks and crannies in much the same way as you can have a vasectomy without anaesthetic. It is painful though. Laughing

thats the place Dom, i was a bit to enthusiastic going through the water and not knowing the water had fine shingle in it, hence the paint damage...
i remember you loosing a panel of sorts from underneath yours..

as for the pallet wrap , cant see that working cos you cant get in and out of the FF,

Laughing Thumbs Up

No its a heavily modded TD5 auto with switchable ecu maps... Off road, Road & Fast Road big hybrid turbo load's done to the motor... That, the upper weight loss and A.C.E and its quite some fun on & off road Thumbs Up

Interesting that the number plate doesn't get recognised on the DVLA database Surprised

The TD5 is a great engine offroad, it's only two failings were the location of the ECU and the plastic dowels. Land Rover Addict
