United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black
Been away in Cape Town

Just spent a few weeks in Cape Town again and have to say I saw more Land Rovers of all models than any other time I've been there, they are really popular now.

Around Clifton and Camps Bay (where the money is) I regularly saw a few L405s, some L322 Autobiographies, D4s, Evoques and plenty of Defenders. This is such a nice sight as they all have Hannibal roof racks and Eezi-Awn tents on the roof, ready to go bush. There's plenty of flash cars cruising the strip through Camps Bay past all the bars (Fezza, Porkers, Astons, McLaren) but I saw a fairly standard UK plate Defender 110 double cab pickup in black with big tyres and it looked super cool compared. Cool Cool

Have to say, all of them look brilliant in a sunny climate, especially as they're all clean and shiny (most people have a 'man' who keeps the car clean amongst other things).

There's also loads of the 4.2 supercharged models in the FFRR and the Sport, didn't see any 5.0 though.

I was driving a Chevrolet Spark 1.2 and when I got home into mine, it was like getting into a bus compared Laughing Discovery 4 HSE

Sounds like a car spotters paradise. I really don't know much about that area.. No.1 fact being a friends brother was a Clarks shoe shop manager there !... It's true about the defender. It can park anywhere and next to anything and not look outclassed.
My wife is starting to give me grief about not having one just now, it's her favourite 4x4xfar Very Happy Previously..

I'm currently in the Cape, Fish Hoek, and do see a lot of LR products but not not that many RRs mainly Discos and a fair amount of Evoques. Will keep my eyes open for the rest of the stay! MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I can't say the same for the Karoo mine is the only RR within 100kms. The farmers have a few Defenders but the majority have Jap Censored. Odd as it may be there are a number of series Land Rovers still working in our Dorp and couple of series 2a that have been restored including mine. The situation changes when we go to the coast(George) in the Western Cape there RRs and all marks of Disco and Defender are very popular.
