Loan Vehicles from the Stealers

Due to my recent brush with my main dealer, my vehicle has to be repaired by their bodyshop, when I asked about a loan vehicle, I was offered either an Evoque or a Freelander?! Big Cry Big Cry
I explained that I need a vehicle that has the nuts to handle a rough track and when it comes, snow too. They said that they don't have the facilities to give me a "like for like" vehicle??!!

Does anybody else have the same issues with their dealer when it comes to loan vehicles? Do you get a similar vehicle or just what they have lying around?

To be honest, i don't see a problem with getting an Evoque for a few days. It might be fun ragging it about in the snow... Previously..

We've had Freelanders and a Focus... Both more than good enough for courtesy cars IMO & if we ever get a RRS or a "direct replacement" we'd consider ourselves fortunate.

I asked what LR DP's et al drive... "Mercs"

Thumbs Up

Usually a Freelander - have managed a FFRR, but only for the day as it was the managers car and had to be back by close of business

A Freelander2 should handle rough tracks OK?

This is a mistake on Land Rover's part IMO.... I know people who own various German brands and you often get your pick of cars Now: BMW 640d M Sport, Alpine White
Gone: Range Rover 4.4 V8 Vogue, Zambezi Silver, Charcoal Oxford Leather
Also: Mk1 Audi TT 1.8T Quattro, Brilliant Black

Its not Land Rover its the dealers that have to supply the cars and nobody really treats a loan car very well. If your business would you lend out £80-100k cars to be abused as loan cars? They have to buy them and sell them on at some stage. Just another way of looking at it. A Freelander/Evoque or similar should be fine for a few days IMHO.

Never got like for like even though one time the dealer said they would give one. Ive had a freelander once, a discovery on a few occasions and most recently a jag xk (although was offered an evoque)

Man just realised my cars been with dealers too much... MY11 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - "African Queen"

^^ on that basis I should be getting a new ff.....

But I don't generally an evoque or fl. Perfectly fine for light off roading. They get taken onto site as generally I'm on the way to work so no I'm not that nice to them Whistle There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Not realistic to routinely expect like for like with a RR... A respectable courtesy car is fair enough. Twice in over 20 years been given an equivalent or better courtesy car. One was a BMW, the other an Audi... And in both cases that was only because they hoped an order would be placed for a new one.

And doesn't it feel great getting back into your own after a day or so with a humdrum car! Thumbs Up

I have had a Defender, when I asked for one to carry the dogs in, as they have a non dog policy in courtesy cars. Other than that mainly Freelander but had a Citroen Picasso too and once had a D3 for the day.. Thumbs Up

As stated its the dealers that provide the cars not Land Rover, so more than grateful for getting a set of wheels at all. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE
