Why is this happening ??

Left the car for two weeks and I've never had any problems before with the battery, but I guess it was only a matter of time.
So went to try the car today nothing. Dead. However I know these cars suffer battery drains so I wasn't initially scared just annoyed.
Got back from work and stuck the car on charge using the under bonnet points and it's now reading 13.4v
But weirdly the fuel gauge is now reading nothing and the orange lamp is on. Range says ____. And the really serious problem is that the car won't let me drive it. The engine starts and revs the whole car wants to lunge forward. I can feel the power trying to move the car but it feels like the best handbrake ever is holding the car in place. It's not the handbrake lol.
What's causing this? Anything I can do?
I really need my car to commute to work. Bushy

What about trying reverse then forward a few times... That might free them off. Previously..

It's having one of those dreams where it's trying to run but everything is in slow motion.

Haha Kurt,

Funny enough I did exactly that reverse/drive a few times and there was an almighty crack/thud and movement. So I'm assuming it was the handbrake shoes.
I was laying in bed think of all the possibilities and concluded it had to be the brakes.
So I jumped in having had the car charging all night. Pumped the foot brake a few times the the handbrake and then R/D and freedom haha.
Thanks for the replies gents. It really had me worried about something crazy and electrical that I didn't know about in the T-box or something.

On to the next problem haha Bushy

I get that when I wash my car and then don't drive it for a couple of days. Not quite as drastic, but the handbrake shoes do stick on if wet and left.

May be less of a jolt in low range......

Glad its sorted Thumbs Up

I never use the hand brake in any of my auto cars when parked up, passed or present, the occasional time I may use it but mostly not. Thumbs Up If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!
