Nope I didn't get it sorted Laughing I have the exact same symptoms as you as per your video. I'm going to source a replacement as buttons are not great anyway. Seems weird auto button doesn't work like you I can only get 2 lights lit up turning knob and auto is stuck on. So like you I have just done a battery reset and issue still exists Big Cry Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

That's not good then Googsy Laughing I've tried two different units and the same problem remains, so I've ruled out an actual unit fault and think it's more likely an electrical issue Whistle It's one of those jobs I wish I hadn't started Mad Now: BMW 640d M Sport, Alpine White

Right had another look. I can get some sporadic movement and control with the auto button. I reckon once you open unit the cogs can become misaligned resulting in no action when turning the auto button. I have left it for today for fear of doing further damage. I think the only fix is a replacement panel or so I hope. The aircon works as it should in anycase so can put up with it for another while. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

hi
you use the chrome outer ring to go over your existing sus knob, you have to use a dermal and grind one of the arms totally off

England 2011 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black

I switched my heater control unit over for a newer one and for a few minutes it did some strange things like flash the air con button without doing anything, but after restarting the car it seemed to work as the old one did, even with the different layout. It might be a BCU thing causing issues with the others.

I will now try to hack the suspension control to add a matching chrome knob.

I also used the chrome dial covers over the sat nav controls (without the rubber inserts as I did not want to dremel the originals down) and it seems to look ok. Tom

Daveo please disregard my last question as i found in ebay the continental heating panels with quite ok prices and believe out of 5 knobs they have i will manage to safely remove at least one ring .

Best regards

Daveo your lights please.
I bought a continental heating panel, which actually was for a newer model from ebay as was very cheap.
I took off the outer chrome rings from the knobs but the diameter of these rings is too small and under no way can be fitted to the suspension knob.
Would you please tell me for what panel do i have to look for so to find the appropriate chrome ring for the suspension knob???

Thanks for your reply

Daveo sorry for the questions but obviously i am missing something.
I have bought the heating panel as per the attached photo
Took off a chrome ring from new panel and tried to fit it over the existing black ring which rising/lowering car (yellow marked it in attached photo)but the diameter of the black ring is much thicker than the diameter of the chrome ring.

Have i actually bought wrong panel with smaller chrome rings or i donot follow the right procedure? Embarassed

Many thanks

looking at you 2010+ panel this is not the right panel for the upgrade, the one you are looking for is 2006-2010

AKIS can you tell me if the chrome circles on your panel are metal or plastic ? and the measurements ID and OD if possible ?

Kalimera.(Good Morning)
You are right this is 2010+ panel but what i want to use out of it are only the three chrome rings which already taken off.(The price for this panel was extremely cheap and that's why bought it)
My intention is to fit a chrome ring on suspension knob as daveo has done but the inner diam of the chrome rings is smaller than outer diam of the existing black ring which rising/lowering car unless if i have not understood the correct way of fitting.

The rings are plastic and the inner diam must be either 27,5 or 28,5mm.
Unfo have not measured the od but if u want i can measure with accuracy both id/od during weekend,as chrome rings in summer house and rvrt to u on mon.
