Ireland 2015 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

The offending article now replaced

Now this car performs very strong. There is a steep hill about 4km long nearby. Previously the Range Rover used to struggle through the gears to achieve 50~55mph going up it. Last night with seven of us inside...yes...two in the boot!... she stormed up the same hill at 75~80mph. What a transformation....I had forgotten just how potent the M57 could be in full bodied jeep.

Now this makes me wonder...this is definitely the quickest TD6 I have driven....someone was definitely tuning/remapping this at some stage.

Must be the colour as my 4x4 chap tried mine and it's his fastest td6 he's ever driven keeps up with both his bigger diesels Smile the remap helps though lol, rarest colour as well Wink

And that's without the egr removed by the looks of it ?

Have you changed the crankcase breather filter to the upgraded BMW vortex unit ? Never has to be changed again and won't block. Often gets missed when servicing.........

Good result with the maf then.

Don't know why the td6 gets complaints about being too slow, not brilliant in stock form admittedly Whistle 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

This car is definitely pushing out a lot more power than its stock 177bhp and 410nm. It feels more like 230~240bhp and 550nm. I did 300 miles yesterday on the motorway....cruise set at 90mph....stormed past everything in sight and averaged 21.9mpg.

I tried it out on a notorious 4km long, steep motorway incline which is a good testing ground to see how an engine performs. It normally reduces 500bhp 46 tonner trucks to 25~30 mph around two thirds of the way up. I entered the hill at a nice steady 102mph, took the outside lane and gave her everything she had. I was amazed at the way she stormed up passing every car, truck, van, coach around...lots of mystified and envious looks as we steamed past several loaded family cars as we climbed the hill. She topped the summit at an impressive 98mph. I have always been a fan of the M57 motor, but I was really impressed at the way this one hauls its 2,570kg bodywork around(I weighed it last week!)

I dropped the car off to the transmission specialist tonight...a 200 mile round trip journey. He will fit the uprated Australian torque converter for me and rebuild/uprate the transmission whilst he has it out. I am looking forward to seeing how she performs after these tweaks. 2008 Range Rover TDV8 435,000kms

Nice one, it's amazing how mine hits 80 90 so quickly yours seems to have similar power and performance Thumbs Up it's funny watching some numpty pull up along at a dual carriage way or twin lights and you can see there itching to get away so some times I drop to sport and have always left them standing I just hold brake for half a sec so power is released like launch control lol Thumbs Up Thumbs Up _____________________________________________________

What stretch is this? Once many years ago I was driving throughout the night with a heavy load. 2+tonne. I'm was coming home to Sligo Via CastleIsland, Co. Kerry? Correct? It was an old P38 RR, they were never renowned for their cooling ability. Anyway - after the long stretch of steep uphill she began over heating. I pulled in, however realised that as I was close to the top and sitting on the side of the road will not cool it, therefore I gunned it - the flat she cooled immediately away with the air hitting the car.

Glocca Maura hill just after Fermoy heading Northbound on the M8.

The temperature needle never moves an iota from normal engine operating temperature in the TD6...no matter what punishment i dish out to it. 2008 Range Rover TDV8 435,000kms

I've finally got mine running the way I want it. Now I'm waiting to see how your Gearbox beefing up goes.

Riverstick, have you not removed the egr yet ? Looks like it's still there in your pic.

Nice cheap mod. Can't talk performance and not do it. Like saying how nice your speakers sound whilst holding a jumper over the cones...

Seriously, driveability will be a bit better, turbo spins up sooner. Black exhaust gunge not feeding back into engine.....

Costs less than £50.

I did mine so the crap doesnt get put back through the engine. Any other benefit is just an added advantage.

Only brought it up as its still fitted in the pic and is a simple way of making the car a bit nicer to drive.

Especially if its been remapped or if you have a performance air filter.

Nice to hear its being brought back to good health. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
