Can factory headrest screens be plugged into aftermarket sys

I have aftermarket headrest screens in my car which are not very easy to watch as they are small and have low resolution and was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the headrests and screens to the official LR OEM ones and connect these to the existing ps2/dvd set up and possibly hard drive media hub (non LR). Has anyone done this or knows of major issues in doing so.

Otherwise I am just tempted to remove the current headrests and use iPads or screens that attached to the seat backs.

Might be able to get some screen compatible headrests from a breakers.

Anyone know if the OEM headrest screens any good?

The ipad route does seem to be the most convenient and future proof option. Tom

Thanks for the info guys. Will consider reinstating the non screen headrests and will get an ipad and wifi hard drive for the film archive. Tom

I have seen a company on the bay offering new headrests with the insert and cabling for the screens pre fitted all OEM not expensive about 125 or so for two. Maybe you can then easily fit the screens to those? Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

I had factory RSE in my 07 VSE and I have (junk) aftermarket in my 2010 'Charger. I will be changing the current ones for Rosen units which, whilst not the cheapest, are extremely good. I've seen them in a Snort and was mightily impressed with them indeed.

These.
