Newbie purchasing a Range Rover Vogue, some advice please

Hi All,

After owning a RRS for a couple of years from new (the lease has ended) I am now looking to buy a RR Vogue TD6 second hand. I have max 25K.

I am hoping to find a 2006 model for that money.

I was just wondering what to look for when viewing the cars, the little nooks and crannies to make sure I’m not going to buy a lemon. (as I won’t have the luxury of it being under LR warranty).

Any help and tips much appreciated...

Below are a couple of links to some cars I have found on the net. What do you think, any good....

Cheers

Australia 2008 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Rimini Red

First of all before we get to the oily bits, that second Java Black one , make sure it has rear seat entertainment because if it hasn't those are not Vogue seats making it an HSE posing as a Vogue .
As for the silver once not every one likes the pillars colour coded, it's a matter of taste though so if you like it fill you boots . 2008 MY Supercharged

Thanks axle, so no rear entertainment/screens means it's not a Vogue...

My Vogue doesn't have rear entertainment/screens.
Thought that was an SE fitment (or option of the standard Vogue) Question

Maybe yours is a HSE posing as an SC. Wink

Have you tried to accelerate briskly yet? Laughing

Axle havign seen several I know from experience the following:

HSE spec - no sat nav, smaller rounded headrests and a couple of other minor missing items

Vogue spec - sat nav, bigger headrests NO REAR SCREENS

Vogue SE spec - as per Vogue but with ventilated seats, multi disc DVD changer and rear screens.

Hope this helps.

plus its not just the headrests, the HSE seats are totally different,

you also get no woody bits, leather covered dash, satnav, cheap entertainment, wheels different (depending on MY), loads of spec missing will check my brochure if I can locate it

Got the clarification on the different specs... thanks for that... Smile

Anything I should be looking out for when viewing?...If it had any recalls, would that be in the service book...

Cheers

LandRover dropped the RSE part of the Vogue SE/SC package in 2007 to lower the cost and made it an option, luckily mine has it! Very Happy

So, not ALL VSE's have RSE but the earlier models WILL have it.

The seats are the biggest giveaway for an HSE posing as a Vogue as all the other bits were options which people could spec up such as sat nav, sunroof etc. Discovery 4 HSE

Check things like the electronics and the hydraulics work as they should e.g. lift and lower the suspension. Do the usual checks you would on any car like the colour of the oil, tyre wear, brake discs and pad wear, service history, etc.

Does this fit your bill? http://services.2ndbyte.com/mediaservice/pdf/514002954.pdf

2005/55 Vogue Td6, Java Black, Grey Leather, 32K miles - 25990 - Proveeda Ipswitch (I bought my car through these guys and you can get the car into your budget)
