If its a wifi connection it is picking up then its NOT the car! Someone close by must have a wifi SSID of Rarotonga.

The password you are looking for is the WEP key. If you have a laptop with wireless try sniffing for wireless networks and see if it pops up there too.

It does see the original post:

I have the same network listing (RAROTONGA) available on my laptop Wi- Fi connection options also?

Looks like you have a neighbour who has a favourite place for their holiday in Rarotonga

Never even knew the place existed, there you go!

Thanks gentlemen - so I now know where to go on holiday Wink

Gazellio / nbunney - Found the 2121 info you have been referring to in the LR handbook, will have a go at setting this up soon. Cheers Thumbs Up

Regarding RAROTONGA - I have driven my car up and down the road where I live whilst scanning available networks...sure enough - as you have suggested - the signal disappears the further I am from my address - so it isnt the car after all that Embarassed (however - signal strength still strong stood next to car parked on driveway)

Paranoia over! Whistle

...but - RAROTONGA / RAnge ROver TONGA that has got to be some coincidence Shocked hasn't it Question

Laughing Not that I am aware of ! - Jeeez, that would be embarrasing, wouldn't it? Whistle

No - We use a simple SKY wi-fi set up with a SKY****** link name and the signal strength is stronger on our drive way - not from indoors.

(I think it is coming from a house 3 doors away judging by the signal strength being displayed on the phone as you approach that address)

Download (for free) Inssider at:

http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider

Install it on your laptop, run it, and it will scan all the wifi SSIDs in your area. Then take a walk up and down the street .....

Or you've got a jealous neighbour who always wanted a tonga green RR and he's named his wireless network after your car!! Laughing Hell of a coincidence though!! I've also never heard of Rarotonga so hereby nominate Adam as our first "Rough guide to 'insertcountryhere' " representative to answer all questions geographical. Laughing Steve
