Some of you will remember my whinging about some warranty problems with Guy Salmon at Stockport. I gave up in the end, feeling as though the service bod was unbelievably negative and couldn't be arsed making any warranty claims, no matter how obvious/uncontentious.

Took it to Stratstone at Bury and had a MUCH more positive experience.

I told them about the wipers making a noise at the top and they replaced the blades, free of charge, with some Land rover modified ones. Apparently they were aware of the problem and have made some softer wipers that don't knock. These are great and don't make any noise. They binned my brand new Bosch ones though which seemed a waste!

They MOT'd it for me (few weeks left of warranty yet though) and went over it with a fine toothcomb. The upshot is that they've replaced to rear ball joints and are doing all the front ones next week.

I got the impression they wanted to find fault with it so they could get the work (or because they wanted to look after me!), which is the opposite to how Guy Salmon came across.

The service staff were really friendly and promised they'd go over it with a magnifying glass next week. Wish I'd gone there first!
