Embarassed

I can see where he caked on the copper grease as requested Stan. So far so good. He did say the stuff they always use was spot on and he's into his performance cars.

Trust him implicitly though so no doubt we'll get to the bottom of the front squeal. I'm taking the front wheels off tomorrow to investigate myself. I'll book my ambulance now!

Off Topic yellow card to me and apols nmj for taking the "shine" of your thread Wink

I'll crawl back to my front brake sqeal thread!

Thumbs Up

Didnt do them myself!

Looked at it logically, in order to rotate the disc to get at the winder the car needed to be, hand brake off neutral, whilst on a trolley on my gravel drive. Too much potential for it to go spectacularly wrong!

So £75 to the garage man and all done Thumbs Up but having read the destructions its pretty easy, its just the lining up the holes! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Ok, time to lube up.....

Its off to the stealers tomorrow for:

New lower inter cooler and turbo hoses
Replace the in tank pump and fuelguage sender units
Oil service
Wash

To be honest the lower hoses havent gone but i want them done after splitting a top hose in france last month and heading off again on friday, i dont want the bother of them going again.

The fuel gauge works kinda, but again don't want random readings on a 1000km journey.

Needs oil service!

So most is niggle fix/paranoia pandering.....but still the best part of £1000 i reckon(i already have the fuel pump/sender) Big Cry There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Could always try a petrol. You don't have to worry about the fuel gauge. It's always on "E" and yes, it always needs a fill up. Mr. Green

Seriously, smart move on the preventative maintenance on the hoses. You will pay the same now, or in a few months, but doing it now you save replacing whatever gets damaged then they unexpectedly fail.

Got to the garage and even though it was booked in to have the turbo hoses changed they had failed to order in the parts...... Big Cry anyway they gave them a good going over and reported that they looked ok at the moment.......Have bought more of the Harris hose tape......

but at least now the fuel gauge works properly, and it has nice clean oil ready for 2000 mile round trip to St Tropez...... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The shiny is not so shiny at the moment, it made it back from the 2000 mile round trip to the south of France.

Only slight problem was droning brakes, i just had the front pads off and there is plenty of meat on them, fortunately I have a set of TRW pads in the drawer, so on they went. After a short drive all seems to be well again, looking at the pads and general inside of the wheel there was a great deal of crud knocking around, seemed to be a bit of grease on the inside of the wheel, and the face of the pads seemed to be a bit contaminated. So am thinkng that was the cause of the droning.... And possibly wheel wobble on the drive down which had eased off on the way back up.

Did notice that where the garage had swapped a cv gaiter they had mullered one of front wheels centring spigots out of shape and the wheel only just went on! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

We did, Dijon is a perfect stopping place, novotel dijon sud is pretty decent if no frills, but its 600 miles day 1 and 400 miles day 2. Alps are mch easier than the south. Managed geneva to derby in 8 hours, it took me that long to get from dijon down to st tropez as the traffic was a bit slow on that leg...... Rest was perfect tho. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
