A discussion about taste is so boring, nobody is right. I always thought that a FFRR is for boring old men, like I am now, and Porches are for young urbans on their way up. My son, 15 years old, calls them poor old men's sportcars, and those are not my words. I once had a carrera4 and I still think it is a Censored car. I traded it in after 8 months. I don't like the way it sits, I don't like the way it sounds and I don't like the way the nose looks, I don't like it's interior, it corners not badly and it can be reasonably fast, but it is not my car at all, but who cares, I had only a little over 60 cars in my life, so my opinion doesn't count
Looking at those sorry old men over 40 that get out of their sportscars and grabb their back and bend over backwards to find their original form again always make me laugh. But if you have to choose between a box of Viagra or a Porche, it' up to you. Cool

On a serious note there is an unsaid rule about negative comments on a for sale threads and I think part of that carries over to "I want one of these threads".

If somebody is seriously considering buying a Porsche Boxster it may just be unhelpful to say you will look like a hairdresser in a tosser-mobile etc. Much easier to let enthusiastic fools have their moment. Wink Laughing

Ok sorry Gaz,
Buy that great car, it's better as a box of Viagra, and less dangerous for the heart on your age Rolling with laughter

That is a bit precious Gaz, although I do agree you should try and be polite and constructive - which I not always am. Embarassed

I feel that we as car buyers can easily become besotted with one car and it's up to others to bring us to our senses, or not if the car is worth it. Very Happy

Cars are such a personal subject. Personally I don't get the car penis substitute type thing. I think most of it is jealousy.
Personally,I think the new 991 targa is a great car. I'm lucky enough to have driven one, benefits of pcgb membership!
I love the sound of flat 6 engines. I love the kick in the engine when you hit the power band.
When I drive a sports car I don't give a rats arse what other people think, I drive it for pleasure.
I also don't like 911 convertibles, any convertible actually, as I think the occupants are too vulnerable if the car rolled. The targa is perfect as you still have the hoop above you. It's psychological yes, but again, personal. Previously..

Targa looks great. IMHO better than the convertible. Like the black. Like the orange but I'd be worried that it's screaming defiance at every traffic cop and they might not appreciate that. Whistle

Re: 100kg top: My biggest issue would be whether it's still watertight when the car's old enough for me to afford it. Very Happy

Disco1 have a premium for the non-sunroof models for a reason. Big Cry

Let me put it all in place, Gaz, I am 62, just sold my Aston Martin 2 months ago and my E type last year. I am one of these old men in sportscars. So please don't take my comments to serious. Just teasing.

I was not serious just looking for reaction and got it Wink

I doubt I will put £100k into a brand new Targa but I really really like it and am very tempted. Its just a thing I have about the Targa and the hoop and it now being available again....

Sad but true. Neutral
