hi all, into an other mod...got my self some 2010 switches to add to my carx project, has any one tried fitting these to the early pre 2009 steering wheels, physically they fit,
or may be some one has the 2010 switch wiring diagramme from the land rover site, cant seem to log on.. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Hi Dave,
Just in case you don't have an answer yet, I don't think wiring diagrams alone will help: I've not yet taken the switches apart, but I'm sure there will be a circuit board inside that take your button pushing and turn it into commands that can be read by all devices on the network - in the case of the 2010 switches MOST commands in contrast to the I-Bus commands that you need for your RR.

What I had planned on doing was ripping a pair of I-Bus switches apart and replacing the circuits in the 2010 switches with those. You'll need to build/find a circuit that will send commands from the arrow buttons. You can't do this simply by adding wires as the rotary coupler will likely not have the spare leads you'd need so no way to get from the wheel to the RR...

hi steve, yes you are right about the commands, colin has done this mod on his disco using the same method but not on the RR, I am away on holiday at the moment but will be back and will be looking for a cheap set at the show, if i cann find something thats cracked or missing a button at a good price then i will have something to mess with, i have a new set but want to keep them for when its worked out

When you say steering wheel switches, do you mean adding 2010 airbag unit? Saw one on ebay at a good price and made me wonder!! Straight swop on 2002??

hi mate, the air bag is the same and the hole unit will fit but the switches are still under going the mod, the 2010 switches send different messages to the other switches. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.
