United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black
2005 Vogue

Hi,

looking to replace my written off 2004 Vogue and have come across a 2005 Vogue with a 2010 facelift, touchscreen etc.

I read somewhere 2005 is a bit of a 'funny' year as it's the transition from BMW to Ford and the audio visual stuff is neither BMW nor fully 2006+ stuff. This particular car has factory fit USB and iPod connector too.

Is there anything I need to consider for this model year as I intend to keep the car for a while and don't want to change because I didn't take into accoutn something simple!

ALso - is it easy to go from a 2010 facelift to a 2012? Is it just lights?

Thanks guys!!

IMHO the 2005 transition car is ideal for 2010/2012 facelifts as it has the touchscreen nav.
As long as you can make do without a reversing camera (I do) then these cars are generally a bargain and feel updated in the interior to match the facelift exterior.

Cheers mate

The interior of this looks very much like my 2004 Vogue - the only thing different is the touchscreen.

For example - the pixel display on the dashboard is still there whereas I believe it changes to a different one later on?

Its the touchscreen that makes the real difference . The LED display is different but it works just as well.

Thanks again Smile

So a 2005 car with the touchscreen can follow the normal route of audio/visual upgrades as one from 2006 etc - can't see me changing anything anyway but one thing that would be nice is a screen for the rear seats!

The wiring in the transition is part old car part new car so not certain on that.

Just to add, I fitted a reverse camera on my 2005 but I couldn't get it to work when I selected reverse.

That was about 3 years ago.

The magicians at GAP sent me a nav software upgrade last week, I reflashed my ECU and now it works perfectly.

Thumbs Up
