United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Ipanema Sand
2004 L322 Entertainment unit

Hi all

Sorry for the possible newbie question. Ive searched and searched and cannot find a reliable anwser.
I have a 2004 FF with a non touch screen. To be fair the sat nav has been pretty reliable even though i have read comments to the cointary.

The TV has never managed to find a station, so im guessing its the old Analogue system and needs upgrading to the newer digital? I have an "aerial" built into the Tax disc holder, but cannot seem to find out what its for.

The telephone function seems to do nothing, so im guessing this is an option that wasnt used, and i cannot locate any connectors etc.

A reversing camera would be awesome.
I consider the screen to look a bit dated in colour and the old 2004 satnav disc is a bit out of date. Im pretty handy with wiring and soldering etc, so looking to do an update on the cheapish (as ive already poured money into the car)

Ive been qouted £199 for a TV tuner, £99 reverse cam and £39 for Video in motion. Then i guess the BMW Mk4 Satnav unit and a later disc is required?
Does that sound sensible, or is there a common DIY system that you guys do?

Cheers in advance

It's all been done, and is all covered on the ICE section of the forum somewhere, but as stan says, a single solution may be the way to go, unless you like to tinker... Smile .

Not sure why the telephone function is on the menu as it should not appear unless it has been found on the ibus.

Do you have a phone in the centre armrest ?

I put a hybrid TV unit in from an X5 which is a straight swap, and then fitted a BMW ulf so that the system paired with my mobile phone when I got in the car, again, from a later BMW.

I bought a mk4 sat nav with 2010 map disk from a mate who upgraded it in his E39 M5, and I have also done the BM54 stage 2 amp upgrade that Baris on this forum does.

I'm well happy with the setup as it looks standard, nothing visually has changed.......

As others have said though, you can rip it all out and fit a unit from China..........or even a car PC....... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I've put in the digital tv system with reverse camera and the price looks similar to what you paid, so I reckon I know who you are talking to. It was an easy fit - probably took me a couple of hours including wiring the rear camera as it was all relatively plug and play. I have the rear seat entertainment with DVD changer so I complicated my install by routing it all to ensure each rear screen could choose TV or DVD independently of what the front screen was set to (if it was on). TV In motion came with it but I deactivated it. If you are handy with wiring then its an easy install and for the one question I had subsequently they responded with advice within an hour.

I did also upgrade the Satnav to the BMW Mk4 DVD sourcing a unit on Ebay - 5 minute job and I still managed to sell the Mk3 unit on Ebay for not much less than the Mk4 cost me! I didn't do that at the same time so you can upgrade the TV without doing the satnav - for when the bank account recovers. Current Fleet:-
