HDC Disabled and New Battery

Morning Guys

2004 TD6.. If i leave it for a few days, first thing of a morning only i get a "HDC Disabled" message. Car starts and runs ok and it doesnt return. Played with doors open and headlights on yesterday and got the message again when i started.. Am leaning towards battery?

Are we still saying Bosh S5 110Ah 920CCA?

Cheers

Usually caused by low voltage which is corrected by the alternator as soon as you start the car, which you seem to be able to do ok.
I wouldn't change the battery just yet, if you are going to play with the car for periods wiuth doors open connect to a battery charger first.
Low voltage after a few days could point to a battery drain somewhere on the car and also at the end of the day a partially failing battery. You could always get the battery tested, usually doesn't cost anything.

I have a spanking new Bosch S5 fitted and still have trouble with battery drain after a few days of innactivity. I have resorted to putting it on trickle charge if I am not going to be using the car for a few days or when I am opening and closing doors without actually starting the thing.

I am trying to track down any parasitic draw but it is taking some time because I can't devote any length of time to it at the moment.

HI,
I read a LR Bulliten on this as I have the same problem after a few days of not using the car.
Apparently its a common issue on the low voltage drop and is a software issue on start up.
Later models had the problem resolved.
I leave mine on charge if its not being used for a few days other wise I get the message too.
I t may be worth investing in a smart charger, there are plenty of good quality ones on the market that condition the battery whilst on charge. I purchased a CTEC and its brilliant, no fears of boiling your battery, plug it in and walk away.
