Td6 Won't Start

Hello Guys.
More bother, sometimes I do lose patience with these land rovers.

For the past 3 weeks I've been unable to start my td6. Fuel pressure looks good, no bubbles in the lines. However - it turns and turns but wont start. Sometimes previously, when hot I would have the same issue, but eventually it would start. Always started when cold until 3 weeks ago.

Starts perfect now with easy start and runs fine.

What do you think? Really sorry asking for all this help. I'm really consider moving back to the landcrusier.

How can we be sure? The garage checked the fuel pressures and he said they were perfect.

Sounds like an injector could be at fault, had the exact same, cranking on key for about 30 secs then away.

I will say fuel pump .
Mine had the same symptoms at the start of May the first sign that something was wrong was it was very hard to start when hot this went on for a few days but it would start fine in the morning.
Then about 4 days in it just stopped altogether and would not start at all .
It turned out that my tank fuel pump had failed the nice people at the deal claimed and replaceed both pumps under the extended warranty Smile as they said it was only going to be a matter of time before the inline one gives up as well and the warranty people agree with them Thumbs Up

had same problem myself soon after getting car ,turned out to be key had lost programing or something like that ,my lad had been messing about with hawkeye and goofed it up ,trip to independents and all sorted have hawkeye diagnostics for l322 td6 in the manchester area ,pm for deatalis.

Hey Guys.

Still no luck. I've ordered the rear wheel fuel pump. The garage has also replaced number 5 injector with a spare, as this one had limited leakage. The garage is committed that there is enough fuel pressure. Anyway to test the intank pump, maybe rattle it or something? When one turns the key you can hear both pumps running and fuel line moves with the pressure.

Apart from that anything else I should check. Would it be lack of voltage to the starter?
Is there any sensor which would prevent the car from starting? I'm really get fed up. She's been refusing to start for the best part of three weeks.

The individual is very capable, however himself and myself have been extremely busy over the passed number of weeks so It's hard to get time. However - both of us are struggling because the injectors are good; showing no faults. the one which was slightly bad was replaced, the fuel pressure is good and the starter is turning perfectly.

He did it using a kit. Placed the return or something into jars. Number five was releasing fuel, not a lot - however we replaced it because I had a spare engine. Is this the correct method?

leak off only tests overflow
injector can leak internally as well and loosing pressure
they need to be removed and tested

You also said the pressures are good have you checked HI pressure on startup?

No, Once the car starts it run perfectly. We have not removed and tested the injectors. It's looking like we may have too.

Which pump is the high pressure? The in tank or external one? I've ordered the external one.

Hi pressure one is the mechanical one driven by timing chain
If you have leaking injector it will run ok when started
(starting from easy start excludes problem with crank/cam sensors)

I d be looking hi pressure problem (pump or injectors)


Considering "high" quality of Irish fuel (had LR garage in Waterford for years Thumbs Up )
