I've slept in mine a few times when I've booked a very early ferry. Inflatable bed - nice and cozy. Diagonally there's enough room for me without removing the seats and modifying - but then I don't need 215cm.

Very cool, handy if I decide to drive the FFRR from the UK to Malaysia  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

i hope that the Range has enough floor venting, as your car will 'fill up' with carbon dioxide, and eventually it will 'pour out' the top vent as you sleep -to death.. I would suggest another vent in the spare wheel well, that is removable, like a few giant grommets Thus allowing foul air to 'pour out' and refill from the top vent.

we always open the roof in addition to the window vents.
Never had a problem of carbon dioxide or something else.
We spend plenty nights sleeping in the car and never had (curry ) a sign of lacking oxygen.

sorry I meant to say carbon dioxide out numbering your oxygen particles,(after time) ie you're using up oxygen and the CO is trapped in a 'bucket' ie the car is watertight. only vent is a vent at top. believe me, if you were sleeping sitting up it would be no problem, as vent is at head height. please research this. the curry bit was a jokey reference. read up on working in confined spaces. Caravans have low vents, as people sometimes even sleep on floor, speak to a caravan expert. (not a salesman) whilst caravanning a couple of years back, in Norfolk, even some people in a tent were overcome, as their gas barbeque was alight, and carbon monoxide filled the tent, from outside! we had about 3 ambulances, and fire brigade out at 2am in a field! that's monoxide, different stuff, even more deadly, you will have that too in lesser quantities. breathed out air is useless, (to man.) and it's heavier than oxygen, so it will fill up the car. vent at top is acting as an overflow! speak to a caravan expert, or a gas safe engineer. they will tell you that houses even have to have low venting.
anyway, posting here for others to take heed.

p.s. I like the setup, I might suggest to the missus we could do this when the kids have grown up. its just that you have to sometimes explore all possibilities.

lastly, if you have time read how this has happened as a natural phenomenum, and wiped out thousands. just plain old carbon dioxide. -you cant see it.

Nice one. I slept in the back of my Disco 3 with the sun roof cracked open and ha d a good nights sleep every time. I have a van from work (LWB VW Transporter kombi) and can sleep in the back of that on a double mattress with ease. I have something called an air safe which allows the tailgate to be open slightly, but means you can lock the vehicle and no one can get in from the outside and you get a breeze too!

As mentioned above, Cars are pretty much sealed up these days so carbon monoxide would be a real threat if say a small family slept in there!

Campers are made to regulations etc etc that passenger cars are not! Hence the laws of the land i guess...
