[Wanted] 2002 Bonnet

Following an utter brown trousers moment when the bonnet flew open at 50 mph for an as yet unknown reason and bent the hinges, snapped the gas struts and dented hell out of the rear corners I am wondering if anyone has a good condition bonnet for a square headlight 2002 L322 ideally in black?! Will obviously check the catches when my heart rate recovers. Blooming lucky no one was around and it was a back road as the visibility was somewhat obscured and am surprised the airbags didnt pop with the thud it made as it slammed back!

Oh it was very scarey!

By the way does anyone know if the year for an L322 actually matters for the bonnet? Looks to me from pictures that even with the later headlights the bonnet shape is the same?

Bonnets are the same from 2002 to 2012.

Airbag were not fired as you did not stop instantly. They do open when the car suddently stops thanks to decelerometers, not from any kind of impact. (so yes, what you saw on Fight Club was inaccurate - and a marketing stunt for VW) l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l
