I would put Honda NSX on the list as well. With the new one due to launch next year there will no doubt be more interest in the original. Fewer than 300 in the country.

always buy the top spec of the model you want, ie not a bmw 628, buy an M6. dearer, but will rise.
merc sl, no, merc AMG!
just use them, knowing that you are not losing money on depreciation, unlike a 'normal car' -that is, sort of 'making you money.' and use an independent for repairs.., for wallet's sake!

I just cant see it happening with the A2/MGF/Puma to be honest.

The grale has been slowly climbing for years as they are getting thinner on the ground. Renault 5 GTturbos are going the same way and williams clios too. Puma may stay as it is but the MGF i cant see moving an ounce unless the new MG's really take off in this country.

The 355 is another one thats been climbing over the last 10years as they are tasty cars IMO and make a lovely sound. RS4.... i would suggest more likely the original RS2's would start appreciating more £ for £.

Dont forget the parts on them are shockingly eye watering which is another big factor, unlike the Mk1/2/3 Golf GTi's where parts are pretty dam cheap for genuine or OE considering the cars vintage.

My money is going to be on an Activa or V6 Xantia over the next few years. over 5 years i can see them going way over the £2-3k mark as there are less than 35 and 70 of each left on the road and they are stupendous cars.

Renault 19 16'v, 21 turbo(quadra to) 25's as well will climb more and more as the dodgey ones get more weeded out and early good original Clio 172 with Executive trim will become sought after.

Its a numbers game as the less there are the more desirable some people see them as. There are plenty of some of the first post examples for sale and in 5 years time more than likely still will be as they are not cars people will happily sell on quickly but are more keeper kind of cars bar the MGF and A2... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
